The city of Aliso Viejo will join the ranks of other cities across the country in televising City Council meetings, in an effort to provide a more open government. The City Council on Wednesday gave city staff the green light to move forward with purchasing equipment that will facilitate broadcasting the meetings on Cox and AT&T U-verse and stream them live through the Internet.
The meetings could begin being broadcast by July and will provide residents who are not able to attend City Council meetings with another convenient way to stay on top of community issues, projects and services.
Stay tuned to the city’s eNews, Facebook or Twitter for updates about televised meetings.
