Laguna Niguel Woman's Walk Team Raises $5,675 for Cancer Research in Memory of Son Lost to Cancer

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Orange County/Inland Empire Chapter honored Gold Rush Cure, a top Light the Night fundraising team led by Laguna Niguel resident Sandy Barker, at a special dinner at the Anaheim Hills Golf Course on Feb. 5. Sandy's son, Christian, was lost to blood cancer. The team raised $5,675. The 2009 Light the Night Walk, held last fall, raised $927,000 for blood cancer research; planning is underway for the 2010 walk.
