City of Aliso Viejo

The Aliso Viejo branch of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Capistrano Valley will benefit from $50,565 in proceeds from the 8th Annual Aliso Viejo Community Cup held June 3 at the Aliso Viejo Country Club.

Funds from the community golf tournament, hosted by the Aliso Viejo Community Foundation, will be earmarked for the Boys & Girls Club's after-school programs at the Iglesia Park Community Center.

In addition to supporting the community, 122 golfers this year competed for coveted titles and to have their names engraved on the grand "Perpetual Trophy," which will be displayed at City Hall for the coming year. Independence Bank took that first-place honor.

At the City Council's July 20 meeting, Robert Bunyan, president of the Aliso Viejo Community Foundation, will present the City with the $50,565 check.

Council members meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Council Chambers at City Hall, 12 Journey. For more information, visit the city's website at http://cityofalisoviejo.com.
