Laguna Niguel Receives Top Marks on Resident Satisfaction Survey

The results of the City’s 4th Biennial Resident Satisfaction Survey were released at the January 3rd City Council meeting and revealed that Laguna Niguel residents continue to be very satisfied with the quality of life in Laguna Niguel.

Nearly every resident surveyed (98%) shared favorable opinions on the quality of life in our City, with the vast majority (90%) indicating that they were satisfied with the City’s efforts to provide municipal services.

The telephone survey was conducted by True North Research and administered to 400 randomly selected Laguna Niguel registered voter households. The survey was designed to gauge general perception of City performance, measure resident satisfaction with specific City services and the relative importance of those services, and identify opportunity for improvement.  Key findings and conclusions include:

  • 98% of residents rated the quality of life in the City as either excellent or good.
  • 90% of residents were satisfied with the City's efforts to provide municipal services.
  • Laguna Niguel residents were generally satisfied with every City service.
  • Laguna Niguel residents feel that the City Council is accessible, responsive, fiscally responsible and listens to residents before making decisions.
  • Laguna Niguel residents feel that City Staff are professional, accessible, helpful and courteous.

According to Dr. Timothy McLarney, President, True North Research, the survey scores place the City of Laguna Niguel comfortably in the top 5% of municipalities in terms of service performance.
