Red Ribbon Week Parent Education Night Presents “Overtaken”
Join DJAMS families as Jodi Barber visits our school to present Overtaken, a powerful program that speaks to parents about the dangers of drugs, alcohol, and tobacco to our students.
When: Thursday, October 17th, 6:00-7:30 p.m.
Where: THE DJAMS MPR
Why: PAL will be holding Red Ribbon Week from October 21st-25th. This special appearance is for parents to hear Jodi's personal story about her son's addiction to drugs and the effects it had on her family's and her life. Wear Pink to Support Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Wear pink to school on Friday, October 18, to show support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Please make sure that all words and pictures on clothing are school appropriate.
Parents please be careful when pulling into the parking lot for drop off and pick up. In order to maintain the flow of traffic, it is important that you pull all the way forward before picking up or dropping off your child. The middle lane is for pulling forward and exiting the campus. Please do not pick up or drop off your child from the middle lane.

CUSD Presents “How to Organize your Child’s IEP Binder
There will be a free parent training on Tuesday October 29, 2013 from 7:00pm - 8:30pm in the District Office Board Room at 33122 Valle Road, San Juan Capistrano, CA 92675. The presentation “How to Organize your Child’s IEP Binder” is hosted by the Special Education Community Advisory Committee (CAC). All participants will receive a three-ring binder and instructions to guide them in maintaining their child’s special education records. Adults only please. Parents of English Learners
We are having our second ELAC (English Language Advisory Committee) meeting of the year on Wednesday, October 30th in the Library at 6:30 pm. We will be meeting to discuss how our school and our district can best use our resources to support our students who are English Learners here at DJAMS. Please come be a part of our team here at DJAMS and this meeting and help us to make this school year a wonderful one for our students. It is the day before Halloween so we will have some Halloween treats as well, so come join us for some time to discuss this school year and have some yummy treats!
Bronco Pride: Adopt a School Planter
One way to earn 10 service hours, is to adopt a school planter for the entire school year! It's fun and easy. This year we are limiting each planter to only 2 students. Please see Mr. Backal in room 706 to sign up, or to get more information.
Would you like to save the environment? Do you want to make a difference in this word? Well now you can prove yourself by assisting DJAMS recycling team by bringing in recycling materials every Thursday for Bronco Bucks and Front of the Line Passes. We hope to see you every Thursday from 9:00 am to 9:35 a.m.. Stay Green! We will accept plastic bottles, cans, and glass bottles. ASB will collect them in front of the Bronco Way gate. For a small bag of recyclables you can get 5 bronco bucks, and a large bag you will receive either 10 bronco bucks or a front of the line pass. Help us save the earth!
Eighth Grade Yearbook Ads

Homework Club began on Monday, September 30, 2013. Thanks to the generous donation of the City of Aliso Viejo we are able to fund this Homework Club. Homework Club will operate four days a week from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. There will be no Homework Club on Thursdays. Homework Club is a place for students to go to and get assistance with their homework and also a quiet place to work on their homework if they arrive early to school. The classroom locations are as follows: Monday, Mr. McDevitt, Room 810; Tuesday, Mrs. Arambula, Room 707; Wednesday, Mrs. Arsala, Room 902; and Friday, Mrs. Riddle, Room 906.

We are now collecting ink cartridges to help purchase school supplies throughout the year for our Broncos! Our school gets money for every cartridge we recycle! Businesses and neighbors are a great resource for extra cartridges. The collection box is in the front office.
