Laguna Niguel Military Support Committee Seeks Help In Making Giant Lei
Military Support Committee Needs Your Help In Making Giant Lei for USS McClusky.
Members of our Military Support Committee could use the community’s help in making a giant 100 foot Welcome Home Lei for our City’s adopted ship, the USS McClusky.
The USS McClusky is scheduled to return home in April after a 6-month deployment and it has been a tradition for the ship to drape the lei over its bow as it pulls into port, signaling its return home.
“It is a very heart-warming sight to see the lei hanging over the bow of the ship. You feel a great sense of patriotic pride knowing you had a hand in its creation” said MSC Member Carole Allen who coordinated the previous Lei-making effort.
If you are interested in lending a helping hand, the Lei making crew will be meeting at Sea Country Senior and Community Center, 24602 Aliso Creek (corner of Moulton and Aliso Creek) on the following dates:
Monday, March 8, 15 & 29 From 6:30 – 8:30 pm
Saturday, March 6, 13 & 20 From 8:00 – 11:00 am
If you have any questions or require additional information, please contact Carole Allen at (949) 922-0011 or via email at Carolealln8@aol.com.

Just mention Hankey School, and the PTA and 5th Grade Science Camp will receive 20% back from each and every order!!! You can eat the very best Orange County has to offer and help our school at the same time. And best of all, Mom gets the night off; no planning, shopping, cooking or cleaning up.

Hankey K-5 Doo Dah Run Reminder
The Carl Hankey PTA wants to remind you that the Hankey Doo Dah Run will be this Friday, March 5th at Cordova Park next to the school. The Doo Dah Run is a new spin on the PTA’s annual fundraising event, the Hankey Run, and all proceeds from the Doo Dah Run support K thru 5 fieldtrips and assemblies.
Students in each classroom have worked hard to come up with their own unique classroom themes for the run. It should be a lot of fun Friday morning as each class marches out and showcases their creativity. A classroom run schedule is posted on the Hankey Website and families are welcome to come out and watch the festivities Friday morning.
Doo Dah Run sponsorship forms are due on Wednesday, March 3rd. Remember, for every $20 in sponsorships, students’ names will be entered into a drawing to win a free Digital Video Camera. Also, if a student collects at least $50 in sponsorships, he/she will receive an exclusive ONE TIME “No Homework Pass” (to be used at their teachers’ discretion).
The PTA wants to thank all of you for your support for this important fundraiser for Hankey fieldtrips and assemblies. Our objective is to raise $8,000 from the Run and we’ll need everyone’s help to accomplish this goal. Thank you again for your help and we’ll see you at the Doo Dah Run this Friday!
Sincerely,
The Carl Hankey PTA
