Natalie's Performers Academy Report From NYC!!!
Hi Everyone:
I am writing to you from Manhattan...as we are here for the IMTA Talent & Modeling Convention at the Hilton on Avenue of the Americas. Been an adventure so far! Saturday night we had tornado warnings - lightening, thunder, hail, and it was CRAZY. On the 26th floor and the news warnings said go to the basement!!!! It passed after two hours but was crazy (I'm from NJ and I never had a tornado warning growing up here!)
Update: Check out the Youtube video of Tay Barton. She's here competing and the buzz is buzzing. Agents, Casting Directors, Managers, and Producers are paying close attention to her. She's the next TV star - can just feel it in my bones.
Back home, Nick Roux is getting ready to shoot his big TV show opportunity. He's another one that has that "it" factor.
Gracie Largent is another one getting lots of attention. Tomorrow night we all take a limo and go on the Circle Line tour - we go on the twilight cruise and looking at the lights on all those buildings is amazing - especially the Statue of Liberty. The Jersey Girl in me never goes away.
Cindy Osbrink will be coming to the studio to scout. SHE IS THE ACTUAL AGENT THAT REPRESENTS DAKOTA FANNING AND HER SISTER ELLE! (caps mean excitement not yelling!) This is a REALLY BIG DEAL. Call the studio for dates and info. She is the best of the best and I have been working with her for years. My daughter Brianne was with her agency when she was very young....so DON'T miss this opportunity.
CAMP IS AMAZING. After last week's show we had 10 people re-enroll. This week they are doing Grease! Philip & Brittany are an amazing combo.....
Philip will also be doing another dramatic play.
Hope everyone has a great week. If you have any questions or need info - email me -I read my email around the clock.
ALSO. When I get back we will be doing a parent/new client orientation meeting where we stay until all your questions are answered. Keep eyes peeled for this one!!

Aliso Viejo rolls out new web feature to promote business, assist residents
The City of Aliso Viejo has launched an upgrade and enhancement to its website to better assist restaurants, stores and businesses in Aliso Viejo.
The website improvements include more in-depth information, easier-to-read graphics, a direct connection to a "businesses own" website and a user-friendly interactive map that makes it easier to find Aliso Viejo-based restaurants and business locations.
The improved website is designed to assist local businesses and help stimulate economic activity in the city and was one of Mayor Phil Tsunoda's Top 10 goals unveiled in January.
"The city should do all it can to help our local businesses during this current economic climate," Mayor Tsunoda said. "By making it more convenient for individuals to find out more and better information about the city's businesses, we as a community all benefit."
With only a few simple clicks of a mouse, the user-friendly city site lets individuals obtain information about Aliso Viejo businesses much easier and faster from the convenience of their home, office or PDA.
Click on the map at www.cityofalisoviejo.com and it automatically takes users to the "Restaurant and Shopping Areas" map. Another click on the desired icon and users can access the shopping area of their choice.
The city's interactive site also features information about roadways and bus stops, public facilities, parks and recreation and more.
The enhanced web feature is part of the city's on-going efforts to promote local businesses and provide residents with an array of useful information at the click of a button.

Arnie Silverman shares a perspective of the 4th - John Adams’ letter to his daughter, Abigail Adams
What better way to celebrate and gain a perspective of the July 4th celebration than to read this John Adams’ letter to his daughter, Abigail Adams 2nd, on July 5, 1777. Since protocols have changed since then, no words or grammar have been “corrected”.
Philadelphia, July 5th, 1777
My Dear Daughter,
Yesterday, being the anniversary of American Independence, was celebrated here with a festivity and ceremony becoming the occasion. I am too old to delight in pretty descriptions, if I had a talent for them, otherwise a picture might be drawn, which would please the fancy of a Whig, at least.
The thought of taking any notice of this day, was not conceived, until the second of this month, and it was not mentioned until the third. It was too late to have a sermon, as every one wished, so this must be deferred another year.
Congress determined to adjourn over that day, and to dine together. The general officers and others in town were invited, after the President and Council, and Board of War of this State.
In the morning the Delaware frigate, several large gallies, and other continental armed vessels, the Pennsylvania ship and row gallies and guard boats, were hawled off in the river, and several of them beautifully dressed in the colours of all nations, displayed about upon the masts, yards, and rigging. At one o’clock the ships were all manned, that is, the men were all ordered aloft, and arranged upon the tops, yards, and shrouds, making a striking appearance of companies of men drawn up in order in the air.
Then I went on board the Delaware, with the President and several gentlemen of the Marine Committee, soon after which we were saluted with a discharge of thirteen guns, which was followed by thirteen others, from each other armed vessel in the river; then the gallies followed the fire, and after them the guard boats.
Then the President and company returned in the barge to the shore, and were saluted with three cheers, from every ship, galley, and boat in the river. The wharves and shores, were lined with a vast concourse of people, all shouting and huzzaing, in a manner which gave great joy to every friend to this country, and the utmost terror and dismay to every lurking tory.
At three we went to dinner, and were very agreeably entertained with excellent company, good cheer, fine music from the band of Hessians taken at Trenton, and continual vollies between every toast, from a company of soldiers drawn up in Second-street before the city tavern, where we dined. The toasts were in honour of our country, and the heroes who have fallen in their pious efforts to defend her.
After this, two troops of light-horse, raised in Maryland, accidentally here in their way to camp, were paraded through Second-street, after them a train of artillery, and then about a thousand infantry, now in this city on their march to camp, from North Carolina. All marched into the common, where they went through their firings and manoeuvres; but I did not follow them.
In the evening, I was walking about the streets for a little fresh air and exercise, and was surprised to find the whole city lighting up their candles at the windows. I walked most of the evening, and I think it was the most splendid illumination I ever saw; a few houses were dark; but the lights were very universal.
Considering the lateness of the design and the suddenness of the execution, I was amazed at the universal joy and alacrity that was discovered, and at the brilliancy and splendour of every part of this joyful exhibition. I had forgot the ringing of bells all day and evening, and the bonfires in the streets, and the fireworks played off. Had the English General Howe been here in disguise, or his master, this show would have given them the heart-ache.
Happy Independence Day, one and all!
I am your affectionate father,
John Adams
Note…On July 4, 1826 both Thomas Jefferson & John Adams died

Local youth organizations sought to recite the Pledge of Allegiance
City of Aliso Viejo
12 Journey, Aliso Viejo, CA 92656
949-425-2500
Local youth organizations sought to recite the Pledge of Allegiance at City Council meetings
The city is seeking local youth organizations such as Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Daisy and Brownie troops that are interested in the opportunity to lead the Pledge of Allegiance at the beginning of City Council meetings.
Since the beginning of the year, different youth organizations have been starting each City Council meeting by leading the Council and members of the public in the Pledge of Allegiance. The young boys and girls are introduced by Mayor Phil Tsunoda, receive city pins and a group photo is taken that is posted on the city's Web site.
The youth involvement is part of the city's 2010 celebration of the Year of the Youth, the brainchild of Mayor Tsunoda.
"Involving our kids in civic activities benefits them and our City alike," Tsunoda said. "Reciting the Pledge of Allegiance gives these youngsters exposure to City government and reinforces the importance of civic pride and involvement in our community."
The City Council meets at 7 p.m. on the first and third Wednesday of each month in the Council Chambers at City Hall, which is located at 12 Journey. Organizations interested in leading the Pledge should contact Kelly Tokarski, the city's public information consultant, at 949-395-4448 or ktokarski@cityofalisoviejo.com.
For more information about the city's 2010 celebration of the Year of the Youth, visit the city's Web site at www.cityofalisoviejo.com and click on the "Highlighting Our Youth" section or "Mayor Tsunoda's Top 10 Message for 2010" under his biography section.

Do you (or your child) desire to become Roman Catholic in 2011?
Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults and Rite of Christian Initiation Adapted for Children/Teens
With the Easter season starting to wane, you may recall that the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults is the Church-approved manner by which adults who are either not baptized or have been baptized into another Christian denomination are sacramentally received and welcomed into the Roman Catholic Church through the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation) or if already baptized in another Christian denomination, through a Profession of Faith. For children/teens ages 7-17, the same Rite is adapted to be age appropriate but remains the universal manner for being received and welcomed into the Roman Catholic Church. Reception into the Church through Baptism or Profession of Faith for children, teens or adults occurs on Holy Saturday during the Easter Vigil Liturgy, April 23, 2011. The preparation process for adults, teens or children who would like to be received into the Church at Easter, 2011, will be getting underway in early summer. Those who would like to participate, and are presently Registered members of Corpus Christi parish, are asked to contact Susie Hays at 389-9008, so that the necessary pre-enrollment paperwork can be assembled. Thanks.
We have nine scholarships so far… and 27 youth wanting to become tomorrow’ s leaders!
The 2010 Youth Leadership Summit will be held August 16 - 20th at the Irvine Outdoor Education Center, a new one-of-a-kind facility located adjacent to Irvine Regional Park. High school students, who have been selected as Corpus Christi Youth leaders, will spend the week learning and practicing skills such as small group facilitation, peer helping, large group presenting, and more while exploring their faith and talents. They will also participate in teambuilding activities, including a ropes challenge course. The Youth Leadership Summit is just the beginning though, as Youth Leaders will serve the parish throughout the year as volunteers in our JAMS middle school youth ministry, in HAVEN high school youth ministry, at parish special events, and more. while continuing to build their leadership skills. The cost for each youth to attend the summit is $400.00 including lodging, food, activities, and supplies. Can you help sponsor/partially sponsor one of our youth? If so, please send your check to Fr. Fred…. THANK YOU!!! Thank you!!! Thank You!!! Thank You!!! Thank You!!! Thank You!!!

Our famiglia is gathering for ‘La Cena’ ….
On two Summer Saturday evenings, July 17th and August 14th. the famiglia of Corpus Christi will gather alfresco on our lawn to fill the night with food, beverage, song and dance. On two balmy Summer nights our parish will gather, as Tuscan villagers have gathered for centuries, to celebrate the familial bonds that weave us together. ‘La Cena’ (Lah…Chain…Ahhhh) is the communal meal of Summer celebration, of taking pleasure in each other’s company, of languorous conversations accompanied by ample food, wine, beverage, song and dance. ‘La Cena’ is all about our famiglia sharing table space, passing bowls of pasta and sizzling platters of sausage, breaking bread with one another and sharing famiglia stories along with favorite appetizers and desserts. Commencing immediately following the 5:00 p.m. Mass, ‘La Cena’ will feature full evenings focused on the leisurely meal and those who gather to enjoy it. While a movie will be available for the bambinos downstairs, there will not be any organized activities for children…they are welcome to romp and improvise their play as village children are known to do. ‘La Cena’ participants are asked to bring their own appetizers with which to make new friends as well as a desert for sharing….and bragging! Wine and summer cocktails will be available for purchase but participants are encouraged to bring their own favorite vino with which to quench summer thirsts. Replacing both the former ‘Summer Experience’ and the ‘Wine and Food Festival’, the two opportunities of ‘La Cena’ are the primary parish fund-raising events benefiting the Building Fund. Mindful of tight budgets, each evening of ‘La Cena’ is a modest $25 per adult (15 and up), $15 for children (10-14) and only $10 for bambinos (2-10), infants under 2 are free. To ensure adequate table space on our lawn, please complete the Reservation Form available on the Concierge Shelves and return it to the Parish Offices via USPS (27231 Aliso Viejo Parkway, AV, CA 92656) or via the weekly Stewardship/Offertory Collection.
The annual Diocese of Orange Priest Retreat is coming…
Please note that the annual Diocese of Orange Priest Retreat will be occurring from June 7-11, once again hosted at La Quinta Resort out in the desert (where we have been able to negotiate a tremendous room deal of $89 per room per night…as opposed to their usual $300 per night!) Thus, while the Grand Hall will be open and available throughout the week for private devotions, there will NOT be any Mass on Tuesday or Friday of that week. Also…just so you won’t be surprised, the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe and the kneelers from the Blessed Sacrament Chapel will be absent during the week…but being put to very good use in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel we set up at La Quinta…and for the Altar of Remembrance for our Diocesan priests to prayerfully remember their own beloved dead.
Once the graduations are over and summer officially is underway, what better way to get into the swing of summer than getting out of the house….and coming on down to Stadium Brewing in Town Center on Thursday, June 24th from 5pm to 8pm for our next Corpus Christi Diner’s Night! Mark your calendars…and look for the special coupon on the weekends beforehand. Thanks!
Will you be starting high school in September? June is the time to become a HAVENite!
Tell all of your Corpus Christi 8th grade friends that it is time for HAVEN, our high school youth ministry! Joining us in June and July will give you the opportunity to meet new high school friends and even get some advice from your fellow HAVENites about how to survive and thrive the high school years before the big day in September! Our next HAVEN meeting is June 12th. We begin with 5:00 pm mass, continue with dinner and music, and follow with games, activities, the night’s discussion, and reflection stations. You are also welcome to join us on Thursday evenings for Kickback…at Corpus Christi, from 7:00 – 7:45 pm, and/or Scripture Circle from 8:00 pm – 8:45 pm. Contact Linda Palomino for more information and to register. palomino6@cox.net 949-290-3424.
Probably not good for infants…but everyone else is invited….it’s SPRING CLEANING TIME!!!!
In the course of a year our home gets used A LOT! Walls get scuffed, tree branches encroach on roadways, kitchen grease sneaks into hidden nooks and crannys, gum gets stuck beneath the chairs, etc.etc. In order to keep our home bright and sparkling, we have scheduled Saturday, June 12th as our SPRING CLEANING opportunity. In exchange for a barbeque lunch provided by FKB, come on down and help lend a hand in spiffing up the place. Our Facility Manager, Marc Jordan, will oversee the effort, form and direct assorted teams and orchestrate the various projects of the morning. If you have any special equipment (chain saws, leaf blowers, etc.) give him a call at 389-1936.
The tattered flag suspended near the names of US servicemen/women killed in Iraq and Afghanistan comes to us from Matthew Kleine, the son of Mike and Kathy Kleine, who is the Ordnance Officer serving on board the USS Fitzgerald, an Arleigh Burke class destroyer deployed in the Pacific. The USS Fitzgerald carries a crew of 275 and is named after William Fitzgerald who died in Vietnam. The ship’s motto is: Protect Your People. Special thanks as well to Ryan Hays for his preparation of the suspended name boards.

Grand Re-Opening of Sea Country Center A Sweet Success! City Of LN
Candy bars, photo booths, candy cake-walks, dancing and the sweet sounds of rhythm and blues were all part of the fun and festivities that marked the Grand Re-opening of the Sea Country Senior and Community Center on May 8th.
City officials kicked off the event with a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the completion of the 10,000 square foot building expansion and renovation project.
The open-house and community party showcased the newly-renovated facility, community classes, senior programs and room rental opportunities. Over 1800 visitors, both young and “not so young!” made their way through the Center where they were treated to tray-passed
hors d’oeuvres, delicious appetizers, and a no-host bar. Many stopped to scoop up sweet treats from the Candy Bar and have their photo taken at the photo booth. Some preferred to bask in the wam summer sun as they enjoyed the beautiful courtyard and performances by strolling enterainers. A Class Faire promoted community classes with demonstrations, music and a variety of give-aways.
The newly renovated facility includes: a dedicated fitness room, expanded computer classroom, large and small multi-purpose rooms, lounge area and enlarged lobby, dedicated nurse/counseling office, remodeled billiards room and remodeled Library.
Furnishings depicting “Sea Country” – an Urban California Design where outdoor materials, representing water, nature and earth are brought inside, can be seen throughout the facility. “Our goal was to create a beautiful, contemporary, and comfortable place for people of all ages to enjoy.” said Cathy Angstadt, Director for the Center.
All in all, the elegant affair, complete with signature items such as the Sea Country Candy Bar, the Sea Country Cookie Pop, and the Sea Country Cocktail demonstrated that “Life is Sweet at Sea Country”.

Few spots left for golf tournament that will benefit community teens
Several sponsors are on board for the 7th Annual Aliso Viejo Community Cup - but there's still room for a few more golfers (or twosomes) to participate in the event that will benefit community teens.
The Aliso Viejo Community Cup takes place on Friday, June 4 at the Aliso Viejo Country Club, 33 Santa Barbara. The event kicks off at 11 a.m., with registration and activities starting at 9 a.m. The fun and competitive golf tournament includes a banquet, raffle, silent auctions, awards and more. Several "on-the-course" contests are also on par.
Golf price is $250 and includes a complimentary golf shirt, continental breakfast, box lunch and dinner. Golfers will be entertained by Eric Tracy, the Mulligan Man.
A host of organizations have signed on to sponsor and participate in the popular tournament including Title Sponsor CR&R Waste Services; Ace Sponsor Charles Abbott Associates; Double Eagle Sponsors PV Maintenance, Pacific Life Insurance and Professional Community Management; Eagle Sponsors Partners Bank of CA, McCarthy Building Companies, Best Best & Krieger LLP, Cox Communications, QLogic Corporation, SunWize, AT&T, and Parker Properties. Birdie Sponsors are APA Engineering, Doctor’s Ambulance and the Horowitz Group.
With a theme in step with Aliso Viejo's 2010 celebration of the Year of the Youth, "Eight-TEEN Holes of Golf," net proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Aliso Viejo Boys & Girls Club and its efforts to launch a Keystone Leadership Teen Program. The program focuses on leadership, education, career development, economic/political awareness and social recreation elements that are crucial to pointing teens into a positive direction.
The Aliso Viejo Country Club is located next to the Aliso Viejo Conference Center and Aliso Viejo Aquatic Center, which opened in May with Memorial Day activities planned to kick off the summer. Harvey Milk Day Celebration will be held at the Yost Theater - May 21st
Orange County’s Official Harvey Milk Day Celebration will be held at the Yost Theater (307 Spurgeon Street, Santa Ana) on Friday, May 21st at 7:30 pm.
Co-sponsored and organized by Men Alive, Equality California, Orange County Equality Coalition and other community groups, this free event will celebrate the life of Harvey Milk, the first openly gay man to be elected to a public office in the United States.
The celebration on May 21st, the eve of Milk’s birthday, is an opportunity to celebrate and learn about his life and recognize the ground-breaking efforts he made to open the door to public office for all gay people, including here in Orange County.
There will be door prizes, informative presentations by state office holders, including State Controller John Chaing, the OCEC Storytellers, and a very special performance by Men Alive- The Orange County Gay Men's Chorus in honor of the gay chorus movement, which got its start on the steps of the San Francisco City Hall the night of Milk’s death following a candle light march down Market Street.
Also speaking will be the courageous Bishop Christopher Senyonjo, touring the United States bringing attention to the atrocities against gays and lesbians occurring today in his native Uganda, where his outspoken support of equality at home will land him in prison upon his return.
This fast-paced program will be followed by the showing of the award-winning documentary "The Life and Times of Harvey Milk" and, finally, an after party at Proof Bar in Santa Ana.
Milk was famous for introducing himself during his campaign as, “I’m Harvey Milk and I’m here to recruit you,” to garner support for his election to the San Francisco County Board of Supervisors. His victory was a milestone in California history. Milk was assassinated in 1978 and would have been 80 years old this year.
Celebration of his birthday as a Special Day of Recognition, pursuant to a bill passed by the California State Legislature and signed by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, was also a milestone. Milk was posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2009, the nation’s highest civilian honor. Many cities, including the City of Santa Ana have issued proclamations honoring Harvey Milk on his special day.
