With school out for the summer, the city has launched its “Kids Eat Free” program to provide residents 18 and younger with a healthy lunch four days a week.
The city is partnering with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Capistrano Valley-Aliso Viejo Branch and Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County on the lunch program to benefit youngsters in the community. Lunches are provided at the Aliso Viejo Family Resource Center in Iglesia Park, 24671 Via Iglesia, through August 21.
Lunch is offered from 1:30 to 2 p.m. each Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and from 12:30 to 1 p.m. on Friday. (Meals must be eaten at the center.) The program doesn’t take place on Wednesday since members of the Boys and Girls Club are out on field trips.
The meals are available to Aliso Viejo residents ages 18 and younger, and participation is open to all income levels. Families from across the city are invited to take advantage of this summer program.
