PLAY WITH THE PROS OF PACIFIC SYMPHONY! “OC CAN YOU PLAY WITH US?” CHAMBER EDITION FOR COMMUNITY MUSICIANS OPENS FOR REGISTRATION ON AUG. 31, 2016

Date:

WHO: Adult amateur musicians ages 22 and older from across Orange County have the opportunity to be conducted by members of Pacific Symphony for a chamber edition of the popular program, “OC Can You Play With Us?” Friends, fans and interested observers are invited to attend this workshop-style event for free (open seating) but tickets are required and can be reserved through the box office at (714) 755-5799 or obtained at the door. For additional information, contact Kelli Rust at (714) 876-2386 or krust@pacificsymphony.org.

WHAT: “OC Can You Play With Us?” Chamber Edition is a unique endeavor to expose amateur community musicians to professional musicians through a live chamber ensemble performance. Now in its third year, the chamber edition of “OC Can You Play With Us?” will include four chamber groups—a string ensemble, a woodwind ensemble, a brass choir and a percussion ensemble led by Pacific Symphony musicians. Participants are chosen on a first-come, first-served basis with no audition required.

WHEN: Registration ($125) for the chamber edition opens Wednesday, Aug. 31, at 10 a.m. at www.PacificSymphony.org/OCCanYouPlay—and tends to fill up fast, so don’t wait! After three rehearsals, the final program takes place Nov. 14, at 7 p.m.

WHERE: Samueli Theater (at rear of the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall), Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa.

WHY: The program was created to foster music appreciation and development, and is made possible with the support of The James Irvine Foundation.
