Milani Entertains the Mission Viejo Elks and Guests

The 3rd Annual Mission Viejo / Saddleback Valley Elks Ladies Club Luau was a magnificent evening where all in attendance were transported to the islands via a beautifully decorated room. Parasols hung from the ceiling and tropical flower arrangements, leis and seashells graced the tables.

The highly sought after “Street Corner Symphony Band” performed a wide array of music and the dance floor was full of appreciative dancers. The lovely “Milani” from “Nahana Polynesian Entertainment” was garbed in traditional costumes and performed both traditional Hawaiian and Tahitian dances.
A few Wahines and Haoles were persuaded to attempt a few hula moves, much to the delight and laughter of the spectators. This annual charity event helps raise funds for the Elks Handicapped Children’s charity fund and fulfill the organization’s primary mission, to support the Elks Lodge fundraising for local, state and national charities.
The true meaning of Ohana (family) was emphasized as Elks Ladies and spouses as well as Elk members volunteered to provide the Aloha spirit in the form of a wonderful Luau meal prepared by Dennis Boelts, Ed Griffin and Kevin Lindley and served by Girl Scout Troop 261.
The tropical décor was provided by Irene Romero, Barbara and Pat Martino, Laura and Dennis Lumley, Sandy and Jack Jacobs, Charles Hart,  Vicky and Mike Long, Linda Cimmarusti, Debbie Spicer, Jinnae and Jim Wessling, Mars Mathis, Pat Ohman, Steve Rusie, Diana Wilson, Howard Sargent, Sandy McClure and Gail Patti. Much thanks to photographer Mike Marquis for capturing the festivities in pictures.
