DJAMS PARENTS NEEDED
We could use your help at Packet Pick-up and Orientation in August. 72 volunteer slots are available to help make this year’s DJAMS registration and orientation a successful one. No experience is necessary, we’ll train you. All volunteers at Orientation are able to go through the process with their student before the doors open and avoid the lines. Registration Packet Pick-Up:
Monday, August 10, 2009, 9:00-1:00
Tuesday, August 11, 2009, 3:00-7:00
Wednesday, August 12, 2009, 9:00-1:00
Volunteers will collate packets and distribute them to parents. Volunteers can sign up to work either 2 hour or 4 hour shifts.
Orientation:
Tuesday, August 25, 9:00-12:00, 2009, 8th grade
Wednesday, August 26, 9:00-12:00, 2009, 7th grade
Thursday, August 27, 9:00-12:00, 2009, 6th grade
Approximately 20 parent volunteers are needed each day. You can help on any or all of the days. Orientation volunteers are asked to arrive 30 minutes early and stay for the entire 3-hour shift.

Great job to all homerooms who donated to the Annual Pennies for Patients Funds! DJAMS raised almost $2,000 to aid the Leukemia Lymphoma Foundation. The top donating homerooms were Mrs. Mannina, Ms. Berndt, and Mr. Hammerquist. Well done DJAMS!

TIER I VOLUNTEER FINGERPRINTING
The Dana Point Mobile Livescan & Notary will be at the District Office Headquarters located at 33122 Valle Road, San Juan Capistrano on July 13th, 14th and August 10th, 11th to process fingerprinting. The total cost for fingerprinting will be $42.00 and is payable by cash, personal check or money order – no credit cards. You may sign up for an appointment by visiting www.danapointlivescan-notary.com. Volunteers are welcome to contact other LiveScan processing centers for fingerprint clearance.
TIER I VOLUNTEER IDENTIFICATION BADGES
Tier I Volunteers who have already received fingerprint clearance can receive a district-issued photo identification badge on the dates below. Locations are throughout the district, so please read them carefully. Badges are processed between the hours of 9:00 am-12:00 pm and 1:00 pm-4:00 pm on a walk-in basis. No appointments are necessary.

“FREEDOM RUN AT THE RANCH” ORGANIZED BY LADERA LEGS RACING
The CUSD Foundation has been chosen as a beneficiary of Ladera Ranch’s 3rd annual 5k/10K Run and 1K Little Firecrackers Dash on the 4th of July. Put on your red, white and blue and join in the fun. Runners, walkers and even strollers are welcome to trek along the beautiful tree-lined streets of Ladera Ranch in a run benefiting Laura’s House, “Tinkerbell” at CHOC Hospital, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation & the Capistrano Unified School District Foundation (CUSDF).
