8TH GRADE PARENT AND STUDENT NIGHT AT DHHS
On Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at 6:00 pm in the Gym all parents and students that will be joining the DHHS family next fall should attend our 8th grade parent night to see the wide variety of programs offered and support available for incoming freshmen.
The evening begins at 6:00 in the gym/mall with students and parents having an opportunity to attend 20-30 minute Guidance Workshops in the Porthole Theater with Dr. Nye and AP of Guidance Tim Hornig.
Along with the Guidance Workshops offered every 30 minutes, parents and students will have access to our different sports programs, academic programs and parent support organizations in the gym.
All of our future Dolphins should take a second to visit our Guidance Website at http://www.dhhs.net/counseling/mainpage.php. This site offers many answers to questions and will enable parents and students alike to be as prepared as possible for the transition from middle school to high school. Everything from our Curriculum Guide to NCAA guidelines for athletes can be found on this site.

PAPER DONATIONS WELCOME! – DROP OFF AT WATER BOTTLE WEDNESDAY
This year with budget cuts and money being tight, our supply budget will most likely run out before the end of the year. Because of this, NHMS will most likely be short on copy paper. Any donations of copy paper (even just a ream) would be welcome and much appreciated! You can donate to your child’s teacher or to the office…it will all be put to good use. We are also now collecting paper donations at the water bottle Wednesday drop off point at the front of the school on Wednesday mornings, in case you don’t want to park and come in. Thank you in advance for any assistance you can give us in this area.
AUTHOR JACQUELINE GROSSMAN TO SPEAK TO 8TH GRADERS
NHMS would like to welcome Mrs. Jacqueline Grossman to our school. Mrs. Grossman is a Holocaust survivor who will be sharing her life and her book, Chased By Demons, with our 8th graders on Thursday, March 25, 2010.
