Dear Parents,
Thank you to all who came to our 8th Grade Awards last night and congratulations to all of our students who were recognized. There is just a few days left of school and the students are very excited for summer. Please take note of the important Dates to Remember below to ensure a smooth end to our school year.
If your family will be moving out of our area over the summer time, please let our office know so we can keep our records updated. The permanent records of our 8th graders automatically go to Aliso Niguel High School at the end of the school year unless we hear otherwise from you.
LIBRARY NEWS
8th graders – Return your textbooks!!!
7th graders – Textbook return is Thursday, June17
6th graders – Textbook return is Friday, June 18
All library debts must be cleared before students can receive yearbooks.
YEARBOOKS
8th Grade Yearbook Signing Party. Eighth graders are invited to the Yearbook Signing Party on Monday, June 21. They will be able to receive their yearbook at that time. If they would like to purchase a yearbook, they will be sold at the party for $45 CASH ONLY! There are only 25 yearbooks to be sold, so it will be on a first come, first serve basis. Please note: Yearbooks will not be released until Monday after school. If your child is going to be absent the last week of school, yearbooks may be picked up in the office after the 21st or send a note to Mrs. Olson asking to give your yearbook to a friend. If you need the yearbook mailed to you, then email your address to seolson@capousd.org.
Yearbook Distribution. Yearbooks will be given out in homeroom on June 22 to all other students who purchased a yearbook. Please call the office or email seolson@capousd.org if you want to check if you purchased a yearbook.
If there are any yearbooks left to be sold, sixth and seventh graders who want to purchase a yearbook will be entered into a raffle. There will be an announcement on Tuesday, June 22, and at that time you will see Mrs. Olson to be entered into the raffle. If you are chosen then you may purchase a yearbook for $45 CASH ONLY.
If you have any questions, please email Mrs. Olson at seolson@capousd.org.
Yearbook Safety. DJAMS will not replace lost or stolen yearbooks. Please make sure your child writes his/her first and last name in his/her yearbook multiple times and always is aware of who is signing it.
8th GRADE WILD RIVERS TRIP
All 8th graders in good standing are invited to attend the Wild Rivers Field Trip on Tuesday, June 22, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Park entry fees and transportation will be covered by ASB. Students will need to bring money for lunch. Be sure your child turns in a permission slip by Friday, June 18, to secure a seat on the bus.
HOMEWORK CLUB ENDS JUNE 18
Friday, June 18, will be the last day of Homework Club.
LOCKER CLEAN OUT/LOST AND FOUND
8th grade students will be cleaning out their lockers on Monday, June 21. 6th and 7th graders will be cleaning out their lockers on Tuesday, June 22, during 5th and 6th periods.
We have many lost and found items. Those items, as well as any others left behind in lockers, will be donated at the end of the school year if not claimed. If your child is missing any items, please have him/her check the Lost and Found before Wednesday, June 23, or it will be gone. Thanks!

THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL, WEDNESDAY, JUNE 23, IS A MINIMUM DAY
Just a reminder that the last day of school is a minimum day with dismissal time of 12:47.
RACHEL’S CHALLENGE
PAL, ASB, and PE Club students will be holding six months worth of chains which display almost 5,000 student messages this Friday morning from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m. outside of the school. This impressive chain has been a symbol for DJAMS that its students and staff members accepted Rachel’s Challenge during Red Ribbon Week last fall. As we go into the summer, let this chain remind us all that a little kindness goes a long way in people’s lives. We can all make a difference. PAL would like to congratulate the DJAMS students and staff members who successfully carried out Rachel’s Challenge and kept the chain reaction growing all year long.
ALISO NIGUEL HIGH SCHOOL BOYS LACROSSE DEMONSTRATION DAY
