API SCORE UP AGAIN!
Dear Niguel Hills Middle School Parents, Students and Teachers:
It is with great pride that I report to you that the official Academic Performance Index (API) for Niguel Hills Middle School, released late Monday and based upon the Spring 2010 California Standards Tests (CST), increased to 878, which represents a TWENTY THREE point gain over the previous year’s score. Congratulations to all of you!! This follows several years of steady increases, including a gain of 26 points last year.
This gain is a direct reflection of the continued hard work of our great students, involved parents, dedicated teachers and hardworking staff. While standardized test scores are only one indicator of student success, we certainly have ample reason to be proud of these scores. Thank you for your support.
NATIONAL PTA REFLECTIONS PROGRAM 2010 – 2011
THIS YEAR’S THEME: “TOGETHER WE CAN…”
The Reflections program is an opportunity for students to explore and learn about various art forms. So, put on your dancing shoes, pick up a pen or paint brush, and start creating! Take out your cameras and video recorders, and explore!
Students may submit original works of art in any of the following six categories:
Literature * Musical Composition * Photography * Visual Arts *
Dance Choreography * Film/Video Production
General information, entry forms and specific rules for each category are available at www.FourthDistrictPTA.org, click on “Programs” and select “Reflections”. You can also check out the work of winners from previous years.
Entries will be judged on Interpretation of the Theme, Creativity, and Artistic Merit. Winning works will be sent on to the district competition. Students may enter as many times as they’d like. Due date is October 15, 2010. Turn your creation in at NHMS office.
