The Orange County Community Foundation Announces Available Funding to Help OC Public School Teachers Bring Learning to Life
The Orange County Community Foundation, in partnership with the FEDCO Charitable Foundation, announces available grants for Orange County public school teachers serving students in the kindergarten through 12th grades. Priority will be given to schools that serve children with low socioeconomic status (schools which have a high percentage of students that qualify for free and reduced lunch programs) and/or low academic scores.
FEDCO teacher grants provide up to $500 per teacher for hands-on classroom projects or field trips that help bring learning to life. The goal of this grant program is to increase student academic achievement in one of the core subject areas: language arts, mathematics, science, or social studies.
Teachers may apply individually for grants of up to $500, or collaborate with other teachers at the same school to submit a joint application with a maximum sum of $2,000 per school.
The deadline to apply is Friday, October 15, 2010. Awards will be announced on November 15, 2010.
