Local veterans are still being sought for a special recognition November 3 – part of a city program designed to pay homage to the men and women who have bravely served our country.
The Veterans’ Recognition program includes a reception and special council recognition to the service men and women affiliated with Aliso Viejo.
Residents, business owners, employees and employers who served in the armed forces are all sought for the council recognition, which will also include their names being added to the city’s online Walk of Fame to help memorialize their bravery and dedication to protecting our freedom. Last year’s celebration honored more than 160 veterans.
Veterans are asked to submit their names; branch of service and the years that they served or are serving; and Aliso Viejo home or business address to Community Services Coordinator Gracie Duran at gduran@cityofalisoviejo.com or by calling 949-425-2519. Family members, friends, neighbors or associates are also asked to submit the names of veterans for this special recognition, which is sponsored by the City and Patriots Federal Credit Union.
The reception starts at 6:00 p.m. followed by the City Council recognition at 7:00 p.m. in City Hall, which is located at 12 Journey. Veterans planning to attend the meeting should RSVP to Gracie Duran by November 1.
