CELEBRATE NATIONAL DANCE DAY
Online Pre-choreographed Video Available Prior to Event for Audience Participation
(ALISO VIEJO, Calif., July 3, 2012) – Impulse Dance Center (IMPULSE) in collaboration with Whole Foods Market Laguna Niguel will be holding a “Move that Body” event in honor of National Dance Day on Saturday, July 28, 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A choreographed video for various levels will be available online prior to this Southern Orange County first-of-its kind event.
Attendees of all ages and dance levels will have the opportunity to participate at no charge. The day will also include raffles, food tastings, giveaways and live performances from professional, competitive and recreational dancers – helping to commemorate and promote health and
wellness through dancing.
“We are thrilled to be able to celebrate and educate people about the importance of exercise through dance during National Dance Day,” said IMPULSE Owner and Creative Director Alexa Beebe. “Whole Foods Market is the perfect community partner – as they are committed to not only offering wholesome foods, but they encourage their customers and employees to exercise the body and mind.”
According to Lisa Rieden, marketing supervisor, Whole Foods Market Laguna Niguel, “National Day of Dance is naturally suited for Whole Foods Market’s company culture including our Green Trek Challenge, which is an incentive-based competition between and within our twelve regions that includes sporting and non-sporting activities that promote well-being, vitality, a healthier lifestyle, community service and healthy eating.”
Rieden encourages people of all ages and dance levels to join in the festivities. She adds, “Our team members including myself will be joining in the dance celebration by moving our bodies.”
Launched in 2010 by Nigel Lythgoe, National Dance Day is an annual celebration that takes place on the last Saturday in July. The campaign encourages Americans to incorporate dance into their lives as a way to promote health and self-esteem through the art form of dance. Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC), a long-time proponent of healthy lifestyles, introduced the National Dance Day resolution at a press conference on July 31, 2010 in Washington, D.C., making the day dedicated to dance education and physical fitness across the U.S. an official Act of Congress. The National Dance Day “Move that Body” Celebration will be held at Whole Foods Laguna Niguel 23932 Aliso Creek Road Laguna Niguel, CA 92677 on Saturday, July 28, 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
