AN OPEN INVITATION FOR ALL JEWS TO ATTEND YOM KIPPUR SERVICES!

Dear friend,

We are inviting you and urging all Jews to attend Yom Kippur Prayers which begin with the “Kol Nidre” Service, Tuesday evening, Sept. 25th at 6:30 p.m. Services will continue on Wednesday, Sept. 26th, starting at 10:00a.m., and the Yizkor memorial service will be at 11:45am. The closing service of “Neilah” will be at 6:00pm, followed by ‘break-the-fast’ at 7:30.

We are appealing to every Jew of the community, observant or non-observant, affiliated or non-affiliated, to spend the holy day of Yom Kippur by attending services. Chabad’s doors will be open to every Jew, for on this holy day all Jews must be united and undivided. We need the prayers of every Jew, no one excluded. The more fully we demonstrate our essential unity by acting with love and friendship amongst ourselves, the more fully G-d’s love will be revealed to us.

The Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, the leader of the Chabad Movement, instructed all of his followers to see to it that the doors of every Chabad House in the world (there are over 4,000 Chabad Synagogues all over the world today) be open and inviting for all Jews. The Rebbe was concerned that not a single Jew should ever feel left out of the Holidays if he/she were not a member, especially on this most awesome time of the year. It is so refreshing to know that in community after community there is a place where every Jew is always welcome – member or non-member – ticket or no ticket.

The traditional service is blended with contemporary and meaningful insights, making the Yom Kippur Service a bond with the past and an inspiration for the future. Insights into many of the prayers and customs are explained during services. Chabad is known for its warm and welcoming environment, making each and every participant feel accepted and belonging.

The fast culminates with the “Shema Yisroel” and other verses said in unison, and the final blast of the Shofar. It is the tradition of Chabad to close the “Neilah” (closing prayers of the High Holidays) with tremendous singing and emotion in the Chassidic spirit. Many congregants of other Temples join Chabad for the unique festive conclusion to the Day of Atonement. Refreshments will be served following the fast.

We ask that you reserve your seat (if you haven’t done so already) so that we can prepare the room accordingly. Please visit our website for reservations & more information: ChabadLagunaNiguel.com

Shabbat Shalom,

Rabbi Mendy Paltiel
