SUNDAY AT THE FESTIVAL OF ARTS
Enjoy Art of Cooking with Chef Joffrey Lopez and Afternoon Music with Lori Andrews Trio on July 21
As part of the 2013 Art of Cooking series, he will demonstrate step-by-step one of his favorite recipes- Basil Green Goddess Dressing on mixed greens with grilled chicken. Afterwards, the audience will be able to sample his creation and take home a copy of his recipe.
For over thirteen years, Chef Joffrey has been teaching culinary skills to aspiring cooks at Williams Sonoma in South Coast Plaza. Known for selling professional quality cookware and gourmet foods, each store also offers a line-up of cooking and technique classes for chefs of all levels.
“Cooking demonstrations with Chef Joffrey are always a great time,” said Susan Davis, director of special events for the Festival of Arts. “His presentations are informative, but also very fun and taste delicious!”
Foodies rejoice every Sunday from 1-2pm at the Festival of Arts’ Art of Cooking series. Every Sunday between July 7 and August 25, this special event series takes place in the Festival Art Center and is free with Festival admission.
Sunday in the Park Music Series
Following the Art of Cooking series, visitors can enjoy the new Sunday in the Park Music Series from 2 – 4pm on the Festival Green. Sunday July 21st will feature the Lori Andrews Trio. A gifted and energetic harp player, Lori Andrews has takes the harp beyond traditional and into the elements of jazz, fusion, and R&B. With eight cds to her credit, she has performed for Presidents Clinton and Ford, the King and Queen of Spain, and many celebrities including Barbara Streisand, Frank Sinatra, Oprah Winfrey, and Clint Eastwood.

The Festival of Arts is open daily from June 30 – August 31, 2013, from 10am to 11:30pm (Early closing at 6pm June 30 – July 4 and 3:30pm on August 24).
