The Weekly Wolverine September 2-6

Date:

The Weekly Wolverine

September 2-6

Administration

LINK Crew (for freshmen and other new students) is tomorrow, September 4th from 8:30am to noon. Please meet in front of the main gym.  We encourage all freshmen and any new students to Aliso Niguel High School to attend this informational assembly.  Upperclassmen will be mentoring the newest of our student body by playing some “get to know you” activities and then they will receive a campus tour.  Please dress casual but appropriate for school.

Don’t miss this opportunity to make new friends and learn about Aliso Niguel High School. This is a great way to get involved and stay connected to add to your high school experience.

For parents: If you are planning on picking up your child and would like to come a little early, you can join the principal in an informal informational meeting in the theater from 11am to noon.  This information and any handouts will be available on our school website for your convenience.

Don’t forget if you have not turned in the necessary paperwork for the new school year here are the additional make up dates for registration:

· Wednesday, September 4th 9am to noon – Attendance Window

· Friday, September 6th 9am to noon – Attendance Window

We encourage you to take advantage of these additional dates for your child to turn in the mandatory paperwork, receive their locator schedule and pick up their library books.  The times listed above are also the times to pick up current textbooks or return overdue books to the library.  In addition, if your child has an issue with his/her locator schedule, you can fill a form to request any changes and drop by the guidance department.  There will be a table where you can drop off  before school starts.  You will not be able to purchase ASB merchandise or have your picture taken during these dates, but you will receive your bar code so that you will be able to check out your books from the library.  Please keep this bar code in a safe place as the photographer will require it on the first day of school for the picture ID. You will not be able to get a duplicate bar code. Both the ASB office and the photographer will be on site the first day of school starting at 7:30am in the food court so you may have your student ID picture taken before class starts at 8:45am.

Please remember that the first day of school is Monday, September 9th.  This is a late start schedule, with school starting at 8:45 in the morning. All students are to report to their 1st period class by the bell.

Schedules (of student’s first period class) will be posted around campus by Friday afternoon.  Students will receive their complete schedule from their first period teacher on September 9th.

Texting and Driving- It Can Wait:

National PTA is proud to partner with AT&T’s “It Can Wait” campaign. Drivers who read or send texts while behind the wheel are more likely to cause crashes—often leading to life changing injuries and even deaths. No text message, email, website or video is worth the risk of endangering your life or the lives of others on the road.  Visit www.itcanwait.com to take the pledge not to text and drive.
