The city is gearing up for the May 2 season grand opening of the Aliso Viejo Aquatic Center. The facility will celebrate the occasion with a special $3 entry fee for all.
The fun-filled event is from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 29 Santa Barbara Drive.
Guests will enjoy a host of activities, games and music throughout the day along with specials from the Oasis Cafe.
The city is contracting with Premier Aquatic Services to run the facility and its programming that includes a host of swim lessons and programs. Premier will open the facility early that day for folks who want to try the new Frogman program at 8 a.m., swim lesson in the lap pool starting at 9 a.m. or the Parent-and-Me trial at 10 a.m.
From 1 to 5 p.m., guests will enjoy games in the recreation pool at the top of the hour.
Seasonal and day passes will be available. Throughout the year, the facility will offer morning and afternoon lap and recreational swimming, birthday parties and special activities such as teen and movie nights and holiday celebrations.
Normal day passes for Aliso Viejo residents are $5 for adults; $3 for kids; and $2 for seniors.
The Aliso Viejo Aquatic Center overlooks the golf course at 29 Santa Barbara, off Golf Drive and Glenwood.
