PTSA Reflections Program
Theme “Together We Can”
REFLECTIONS PROGRAM: is starting now and Projects are due in the front office at AVMS on October 15th, 2010 and no late entries allowed! Entry forms and rules are available at the California State PTA web site: www.capta.org (look for Reflections under Programs) or at the AVMS office. You can print the Entry Form and rules off the site!
PARENTS: Challenge your children to use their critical thinking skills as well as their creative talents to create art that supports the above theme. Encourage them to explore their thoughts and feelings through interpretation.
ENTRIES: Each entry must be the work of one student only. An adult may not alter, change or enhance the creative integrity of a student’s work. Only one new piece of artwork inspired by the theme is acceptable. The goal of the Reflections Program is PARTICIPATION, not winning.
CATEGORIES
LITERATURE: Poetry, prose, drama, song lyrics, short stories.
MUSICAL COMPOSITION: Scores of original composition.
PHOTOGRAPHY: Prints up to 11” x 14” in color or black & white.
VISUAL ARTS: Drawing, painting, collage, printmaking, the piece can be no bigger than 24”x 30” in size.
DANCE CHOREGRAPHY: Dance routine no longer than 5 minutes and performed by 1-3 dancers (with their permission).
FILM/VIDEO PRODUCTION: Original content lasting no longer than 5 minutes.
