Anna Altomari

Chef Anne Burrell and Chef Robert Irvine.
Local resident, Anna Altomari, is going to be a contestant on the second season of Food Network’s hit primetime competition series, Worst Cooks in America, premiering January 2nd at 10pm. As a registered nurse and patient case manager, Anna, 45, is so focused on taking care of others that she still lives at home with her strict Italian mother. Anna hopes that learning to cook on the show will help her find that special someone, so she can pass on her mother’s recipes for generations to come.
The eight-week competition features 16 of the country’s most hopeless cooks as they attempt to master the kitchen through a grueling culinary boot camp led by acclaimed chefs and Food Network stars, Chef Anne Burrell (Secrets of a Restaurant Chef) and Chef Robert Irvine (Dinner: Impossible). On the line are $25,000 and the bragging rights of no longer being one of the Worst Cooks in America.
The debut season of Worst Cooks in America (which aired in January 2010) was the highest-rated series premiere in Food Network history.
Worst Cooks in America
Season Two Premieres on Sunday, January 2, 2011 at 9pm ET/PT
Sixteen of the country’s most hopeless cooks attempt to transform from kitchen zeros into kitchen heroes as they compete in a grueling culinary boot camp on season two of Food Network’s primetime reality series, Worst Cooks in America. The “recruits” – nominated by family and friends for their abysmal cooking skills – are split into two teams led by acclaimed chefs and Food Network stars Chef Anne Burrell (Secrets of a Restaurant Chef) and Chef Robert Irvine (Dinner: Impossible). With a season one victory under her belt, Chef Anne hopes the red team will succeed again while Chef Robert joins the competition with a fresh determination to win. In each one-hour episode, the recruits put to use the techniques they learn from their chefs in two high-pressure tests: a Skill Drill and a Main Dish Challenge. The worst cook from each team is eliminated at the end of the episode based on performance and progress. The final two recruits must prepare a three-course, restaurant-quality meal for a panel of culinary experts (Donatella Arpaia, Marc Murphy and Drew Nieporent) in the season finale. On the line are the chefs’ professional reputations and $25,000 for the newly-crowned kitchen hero. Season one of Worst Cooks in America premiered on January 3, 2010 as the highest-rated series premiere in Food Network history.
