The Annual Fine Art Exhibit was a huge success! Club members and their families experienced the transformation of the Club’s Community Room, which became a very special exhibit filled with over 200 club members’ masterpieces covering every wall and table! Club Art Director, Emily Murray was excited, ” All the art programs offered at the club are based on the process. Members explore materials and interpret each lesson, taking what they want from the daily art classes. It is evident in the variety and expressive nature of all of their work on display that they are not afraid to express themselves. That is what it is all about!”

After enjoying the well-anticipated Art Exhibit, families stuck around for an evening of fun. Family Fun Night occurs once a month and gives families a chance to socialize while enjoying a delicious dinner. The activities coincided with the Fine Art Exhibit. Parents and their kids created a giant mural drawing and played Pictionary. The night ended with “live sculpture”, which gave kids a chance to dress their parents up as statues.

The first place pieces at the Fine Art Exhibit will be sent off to the Regional Competition in Oregon and then have a chance to make it to National. The following members received first place at Local Exhibit. Frankie Payne-Carter, Sofia Hefter-Smith, Autumn McQuaid, Zoe Payne-Carter, Solei Prats, Laura Martinez, Andrea Osburn, Tori Jones, Amanda Harris, Jilleah Channels, Alexa Yubeta, Elisa Dobrow-Isaza, Thea Walsh, Sol Forbes, Hana Ford, and Lalia Garcia.

The activities encourage creative interpretation, creative problem solving, and character development through personal expression. The Art Room is a fun place for kids to express themselves, learn, and grow. The Club offers various opportunities for creative art experiences aside from the Fine Arts Program.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Laguna Beach Visual Arts programs are funded through generous grants from the Hearts of Montage, the Redfern Gallery, the Festival of Arts Foundation, and Laguna Craft Guild.
