November 12th to 15th, 2013
ATHLETICS:
-Great Job by the football team this past Friday night to finish off the season. The 50-27 win by the Wolverines was the largest margin of victory this season and a good look into next year.
The boys and girls cross country team will compete in the CIF prelims this coming Saturday at Mt. SAC. The boys are excited after placing first in league and the girls are looking to capitalize on their second place finish by advancing into the finals on Nov. 23rd.
-Winter sports are just now getting started and schedules will be available shortly. Official games will begin following the Thanksgiving break.
The winter sports are girls water polo, boys and girls basketball, boys and girls soccer and wrestling.
ACTIVITIES /CLUBS/ PUBLICATIONS/ DRAMA
Come laugh with us for The Servant of Two Masters.
The Aliso Niguel Theatre Company announces its Fall Play, The Servant of Two Masters. This hilarious comedy in the style of Commedia dell Arte will be produced on a modified Black Box Stage at the ANHS Theatre on November 20-22 at 7pm. It will also go on the road for two performances at the Crown Valley Park Amphitheatre on Saturday, November 23 at 1:00 and 6:00.
Tickets will be available at anhsdrama.com or at the door.
General admission tickets are $14
Students are $12.
Opening night, Nov. 20, student rush tickets are $10.
Matinee tickets are also $10 for everyone for the Saturday matinee which will be off site at Crown Valley Park Amphitheatre
Canned Food Drive Please encourage your child to bring in a few cans to help.
Starting November 12th through the 15th. (THIS WEEK ONLY) Cans will be collected in their 3rd period classes.
Fall Blood Drive
Our annual fall Blood Drive will be held on Monday, December 9th, from 7:30am to 1:30pm in our small gym. Sign up’s will be available during lunch for students 17 yrs. (with parent permission) and up. This Blood Drive is for Juniors and Seniors only. ASB will have tables out in court yard during lunch the week of November 18th and again when we return from fall break.
Fundraising
Pep Squad is selling See’s candy & potted Poinsettia’s for the Holidays.
If you will be purchasing any of these items anyway, please consider purchasing from one of your Pep Squad Students to help fund our ANHS Pep Squad program. Both make great holiday gifts for friends, neighbors, & family, as well as hostess gifts & are also needed for your own home as well!
The Poinsettias are $8 each, They are the huge ones you get at Home depot or Lowes for about $20.00. The See’s candy is available in select packages or you can buy a 1-pound gift certificate for $17.50 and use it in store for item of your choice.
All orders are due November 21 will be available for pick up the 2nd week of December. More information about this fundraiser can be found on our school website.
Drama department will have a FOOD Truck (the Flip Truck – Hawaiian style: specializing in Panini’s, burgers, and grilled cheese …..curbside (in front of the small gym) November 20th from 4pm to 8pm. Come on out and support your drama department and purchase a delicious meal before the drama production of “Servant of Two Masters”. See information above for theatre dates and time.

ANHS PTSA Needs Your Help! ANHS PTSA has set aside $4000 to fund grants to ANHS teachers for items, projects, and programs that will directly impact and enhance the classroom experience. However, we received over $6700 in Teacher Mini-Grant applications- this means PTSA will not be able to award $2700 to teachers for worthy projects and programs! Please help us fund all the worthy grant proposals. It is not too late to donate to ANHS PTSA and help us fund teacher mini-grants. CAN YOU HELP BY DONATING TO ANHS PTSA?
