Dear Parent/Guardian,
Tryouts will begin in January for returners. New students to the program will have an opportunity to tryout beginning in November (after the girls season finishes). Students must have athletic clearance packet including physical completed and approved by the Athletic Director by 11/17/09. Returning Varsity golfers must have their paperwork completed and turned in prior to 11/30/09.
Requirements for students wishing to tryout:
There will be a $10 charge per tryout to cover range balls and green fees. The golf program must secure the following: tryout facilities, such as putting greens, chipping areas, bunkers, ranges, range balls and both private and public golf courses for tryouts. To help with these expenses and have students show their appreciation, they are required to participate with volunteer hours at the golf course.
• School District’s Physical & Athletic Clearance Form (must be completed each year – good for any all sports during school year). May not tryout if form is not turned in.
• CUSD Off Campus Activity/Class Transportation Waiver Agreement
• Read Golf Team Code of Conduct Form (on anhsgolf.org)
Students making the team must also complete/participate in the following:
• Golf Team Code of Conduct Form
• Team fund raiser, assistant coaching stipends have been cut by school board
• Spirit Pack, $395 (includes 2 Team Shirts, hat, ball mark repair tool, golf balls for contests, range balls and any golf course fees) due by February 4, 2010 or one week following the announcement of making the team. Advertising signs ($300 each) for gymnasium or stadium may be secured and their spirit pack fee will be reduced by $175). An additional banner may be secured instead of the fund-raisers.
• 8-16 hours of volunteer work at Golf Courses, where students play for free.
