Saddleback College Art Gallery Curator Bob Rickerson is pleased to announce the winners of the Student Art Exhibition that took place on May 4-14, 2015 in the Saddleback College Art Gallery.
Students received their awards at an artists’ reception and awards ceremony on May 12th. This year’s exhibition was juried by Yu Ji, Professor of Art at California State University, Long Beach, and the Saddleback Art League.
The cash awards have increased due to the generosity of “The Angels for the Arts at Saddleback College” and the “Dane and Dixie Bullock Award sponsorships.”
The President of Saddleback College, presented the President’s Choice Award to John Moothart for his photograph titled Emotional Crossroads, and the Dean of Fine Arts and Media Technology Bart McHenry presented the Dean’s Choice Award to Louise Lambly for her Tall Hand Built Pitcher.

The college’s Art Gallery is one of South Orange County’s primary outlets for creative expression in traditional and conceptual art. Exhibitions featuring works by local, regional and nationally known artists are presented from September to July.
The month of May is reserved for the annual multi-media Juried Student Exhibition. The Art Gallery is an important part of the instructional program. Students enrolled in the gallery display and exhibition classes learn how to plan, design, install and organize gallery space through art exhibitions.
Saddleback College is located at 28000 Marguerite Pkwy in Mission Viejo, just east of Interstate 5 at the Avery Parkway exit. Free parking is available in Lot 12. Take Avery Parkway to Marguerite Parkway turn left to the third traffic light, which is Saddleback’s Marguerite entrance. Turn right into the campus and take the third left to “Theatre Circle,” turning right into Lot 12.
