Art Walk Is Tonight In Laguna Beach – Happenings At MMCA

Date:

Ushering in the new year,
MMCA | Marion Meyer Contemporary Art
invites our friends, collectors and
all contemporary art enthusiasts to
refresh, rejuvenate and revitalize
through the inspiration of art.

Please visit us during any of the monthly First Thursdays Art Walk events,
and you are also encouraged to enjoy the gallery’s regular hours for a more intimate and introspective experience.
January 7th, 6-9 pm,
coinciding with Laguna Beach’s First Thursdays Art Walk celebration,
preview internationally renown artist
EILEEN CHAN’s original paintings in Chinese ink on paper
in anticipation of DÉJÀ VU, Chan’s upcoming solo exhibition at the gallery opening March 27th.

Eileen Chan resides and creates in Hong Kong, and
she recently returned from Florence, Italy where an installation of 300 painted bottles from her successful Bottlemania collection was selected to be displayed at the Biennale of Contemporary Art early December.
Chan’s recent works will be featured as part of her MMCA solo exhibit DÉJÀ VU,
an exhibition not to be missed!

Look forward to
Winter Blue 2010
a Group Show including paintings by Quim Bové, William Beaver, Eva Carter, Paula Schoen, Mark Erickson, Bruce Brainard, James Leonard, Robert Mah, Battersby, John Szabo, Tesia Blackburn and others
opening February 4th, 6-9 pm, First Thursdays Art Walk.

And MMCA couldn’t be more excited that our artists
Robert Mah and Boey
were selected for distinguished inclusion in the Laguna Art Museum’s OsCene 2010 exhibition. OsCene 2010 celebrates the latest in contemporary art and culture in the OC. Highlighting local Orange County and Long Beach artists, OsCene 2010 will feature some of the most provocative art that Orange County has to offer!

“All art enhances our daily lives and enriches our souls. During turmoil and difficult times, the escape art provides becomes more essential if not a necessity.
I advise my clients to acquire an artwork based on the aesthetic value, value measured in enjoyment being surrounded by the original piece in their home/office on a daily basis, as opposed to securing art as an investment potential.
Capital appreciation of art is an additional bonus.”

as quoted by Brett Callahan, Laguna Beach Magazine, January/February 2010

Refresh, rejuvenate and revitalize …

“HAPPY NEW YEAR!” and much gratitude for your support in 2009 and past years! I look forward to seeing you in the gallery soon.

With warm regards, Marion
