Did you know that the YMCA provides before and afterschool care for students in middle school. Before and afterschool care is provided at Niguel Hills Middle School, Don Juan Avila Middle School and Aliso Viejo Middle school! The YMCA Teen Club is conveniently located on campus and is open during school breaks and summer break!
Summer: We have a fantastic summer planned with a full calendar of fun activities and fieldtrips! Our field trips include Knott’s Berry Farm, OC Fair, Aquarium of the Pacific and many more fun trips! YMCA Teen Club Summer day camp will be held at Niguel Hills Middle School in Laguna Niguel and Don Juan Avila Middle School in Aliso Viejo. Hours: During the school year, the YMCA Teen Club is open every morning from 7:00AM to 8:30AM and on Thursdays from 7:00AM to 9:30AM. We are also open in the afternoon from school dismissal to 6:00 PM. We are open during school breaks and summer from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Daily Activities include: We offer homework support including access to the internet, a healthy snack, and outdoor group games daily. We also include character building, art and science enrichment, and fun electronics like the Wii, XBOX360, PS3 and computers. Specialty clubs such as cooking, sports, and photography are also offered.
YMCA staff: All of the YMCA staff members are first aid and CPR certified. All of our staff is extensively trained. Each staff has experience working with students and/or has child development units. All of our staff is driven to better the lives of teenagers and assist in their development into great young people!
TAB: The Teen Advisor Board is comprised of teens in the YMCA program who want to design a better YMCA that will continue to be the place where teens want to go. The TAB team gives input on monthly snack, supplies, games, and program purchases. The TAB team also helps plan events, daily activities and service learning projects. This team meets monthly to contribute to the program. This is a great opportunity for your student to learn and practice leadership skills.
Character building: Middle school is a pivotal time in a student’s life. The YMCA prides themselves on providing a valued based environment for their students. The YMCA Teen club continually works on developing your student’s character through our 6 pillars of respect, responsibility, caring, fairness, trustworthiness and citizenship.
Financial assistance: Financial assistance is provided to parents/guardians who qualify. Also, if you are an Aliso Viejo resident you are eligible to receive a discount on our fees through a partnership with the city of Aliso Viejo.
The YMCA Teen Club provides a structured after school program with choices for our independent teens.
