CANYON VISTA STUDENTS GIVE BACK! CANYON VISTA HEROES!
Our “$1 for Books” contest was a great success! We raised $1,064! Mrs. Brown’s class brought in the most dollars, $84.80, while Mrs. Heuer’s class was a close second with $80! The students will each receive a $1 Hero Dollar to spend at the Book Fair. The classes with participation of more than 70% are: Mrs. Calkins, Mrs. Miller and Mrs. Lausterer. They will also receive a $1 Hero Dollar for each student. Because of your generosity, with this money raised, Scholastic will be purchasing books in Canyon Vista’s name and donating them to children who would not have new books during this holiday season! Thank you!
OPPORTUNITIES TO GET OUT OF THE KITCHEN!
This time of the year is so busy, you don’t have time to cook do you? Of course not! So Tuesday, December 14th, head over to Chipotle and Canyon Vista will get 50% of the proceeds! Don’t forget to bring your flyer! Also, Wednesday, December 15th and Thursday, December 16th, Powell’s Sweet Shoppe and Rubio’s will be donating 20% of their proceeds with your order. Rubio’s offer is good from 3 p.m. until close while Powell’s will accept your flyer all day! Make life easy on yourself and support our PTA at the same time! Check your child’s backpack for flyers for each of these events!
PARKING DURING THIS BUSY TIME!
We are gearing up for one of our busiest times of the year and you know what that means! Parking will be very limited. As more parents will be visiting classrooms these next couple of weeks, please remember that all parking spaces labeled “STAFF” are for staff ONLY! We will have staff coming and going at all times, and they will need their spots. You may want to plan on getting to school a little early if you want to park in an unmarked spot in our lot, or plan on parking in the neighborhood. We appreciate your help and efforts in keeping these next couple of weeks as stress-free as possible for everyone!
CLASSROOM “CULMINATING ACTIVITIES”!
If your child’s teacher has planned activities in the next few weeks, and you’d like to join in the fun, please make sure you double check with the teacher if young siblings are invited.
