SUMMER MATH PROGRAM
Bergeson is pleased to host a fun and interactive math program this summer for elementary and middle school students. “FASTTMath” & “Fraction Nation” are computer-based programs addressing operations with whole numbers and working with fractions and decimals. This fee-based summer class offers different program/time slot options and runs from 6/28 – 8/12, Monday – Thursdays. The program will be taught by Bergeson teachers Mrs. Terheggen and Mrs. Wiseman. Parents can register online at http://commnity-ed-capousd-ca.schoolloop.com/ or click here for an application. We are required to have 60 students by May 15 to run this program at Bergeson. Don’t miss out on this great summer learning opportunity for our students!
BERGESON SUMMER ACADEMY
We are pleased to host our 2nd year of the Bergeson Summer Academy for our current Kindergarten through 5th grade students from 9 – 11 AM, Monday through Thursday in two 2-week sessions starting on Monday, June 28. The program will be taught by Bergeson teachers and is a wonderful way to help students keep the great academic skills which they have built throughout the course of this school year. We will send a flyer home next week. The program will focus on Reading and Math. Classes will be kept small so that we can help to individualize instruction.
PASTA FOR PENNIES
March 12 is the deadline! Bergeson School is participating in the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Pennies for Patients program which raises funds to find cures for leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma research for patient services. During March, our school’s students and our friends and family can assist in collecting as much spare change as possible to help the Society cure blood cancers and provide services to patients and their families. All you have to do is collect coins and dollar bills and put them in your classrooms collection box. The top fundraising classroom will win a free pasta lunch from Olive Garden Restaurant! While pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters certainly add up, we know that more must be done to find cures and help patients. You can make your donation on-line at this website and it will be credited to your child’s class total at this website: http://ocie.sy.llsevent.org/marianbergeson123 Thank you!

CELEBRATION BOOKS LIBRARY DONATION
Purchasing a book for the Bergeson Library is a great way to honor your child’s birthday, applaud a major accomplishment, recognize good grades or just proclaim your child as an outstanding Bergeson Bulldog. In recognition of your donation to the library, your child is recognized by Principal Scholl during the Friday morning flag salute and a “Book Plate” will be affixed to the inside cover of your book selection announcing, “This book was donated in your child’s honor!” Recognitions of book donations are presented every Friday at 7:45 am. Book Club Forms can be picked up in the office. Donating a book to the Bergeson Library is a wonderful tribute for your child that all Bergeson students can enjoy for many years. What a wonderful gift to give to grow our library. Michael Parker – Mrs. Roso’s class – in honor of his 7th birthday!
