The Ocean Institute will present its 27th annual Toshiba Tall Ships Festival, the largest annual gathering of tall ships on the West Coast, the weekend of September 9-11, 5-7 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Saturday & Sunday. Come and explore the majesty and wonder of tall ships through the smells, sounds and sights of real working tall ships. Interactive living-history encampments, including blacksmiths, scrimshaw artists, knot tiers, and the infamous Port Royal Privateers, are sure to entertain and amaze guests of all ages.

Inside the Ocean Institute, explore our work protecting the local watersheds through hands-on labs and art activities, and get up-close and personal with some of the ocean’s most amazing sea creatures, including sea stars, jellies, rays and octopuses.
Cost: $10.00 / adults, $8.00 / children (3-12yrs.) Visitors may also ride onboard one of the tall ships and experience a cannon battle between ships, for an additional charge. Information: (949) 496-2274 or www.ocean-institute.org.
