On Wednesday, February 24, 2010, Cypress Mayor Prakash Narain, M.D., and City officials visited with executives of Mitsubishi Electric & Electronics USA, Inc. located at 5665 Plaza Drive as part of the City’s efforts to reach out to its business community through the Business Retention, Attraction, Creation & Expansion (BRACE) program.
Mitsubishi Electric & Electronics USA, Inc. (MEUH) is a recognized leader in the research, marketing, sales, engineering and manufacturing of electrical and electronic equipment used in consumer electronics, industrial technology, energy, transportation and construction. MEUH’s Cypress location specifically houses corporate level support functions, markets to consumer, commercial, and industrial electronic products including semiconductors, photovoltaic/solar modules, heating and air conditioning systems, and elevators and escalators.
MEUH is committed to social responsibility and has made an effort to improved production methods, increased product efficiency, less energy usage, smarter packaging and large-scale recycling. With approximately 3,500 employees in 30 locations throughout North America, the Cypress headquarters has approximately 120 employees and originally moved to Cypress in 1973.
