South Orange County Regional Chamber of Commerce Accepting Nominations in Multiple Categories, Winners to be Announced at the April 15 Regional Cities Ball
Laguna Hills, CA – The South Orange County Regional Chamber of Commerce (SOCRCC) today announced it is accepting nominations for its inaugural South Orange County (SOCO) Awards.
SOCO award winners – honored in five distinct categories – will be announced at the 20th Annual Regional Cities Ball (RCB) on Friday, April 15, 2011 at the Laguna Cliffs Marriott in Dana Point.
“As a leading business association in south Orange County, the Regional Chamber is on the forefront of revitalizing the local economy; we’re excited to honor those businesses leading the way,” said Kay Kearney, Vice President of AmeriCare Ambulance and Chair of the Regional Cities Ball.
Kearney continued: “RCB is already one of the highlights of the regional business calendar convening business leaders and elected officials for an entertaining evening. The SOCO awards will make for an even more exciting and enriching event.”
Six winners will be awarded in the following five categories:
Business of the Year (2)
Two separate awards, one for a company with greater than 25 employees, and another for a company with fewer than 25. Along with highlighting excellence in business, the Business of the Year award winner will demonstrate outstanding attributes in service to the community, business values, leadership and show how the company overcame significant challenges.
“Leading the Way to Recovery”
Winning nominee in this category will demonstrate how their company overcame significant challenges specifically posed by the current down market and succeeding against all odds to create new jobs for south Orange County’s workforce.
Business Innovation Award
The winner innovator will cite specific examples in the use of technology, innovative staffing tactics, ground-breaking marketing strategies, the rollout of new product lines or other novel business practices.
Advocate of the Year
Winning advocate will demonstrate leadership roles campaigning on behalf of state or local ballot measures, testifying before federal, state or local legislative/policy-making bodies or representing a local Chamber of Commerce before local government in an effort to enhance the business environment in south Orange County
“Going Green” Award
Winner will demonstrate how their company’s best employed environmentally sustainable business practices, leading to stronger sales, lower costs and/or expanded profit margins in 2010.
In order to be considered for nomination, applicants must: Completed nomination application Describe in approximately 300 words why nominee should be selected. Include news articles or other exhibitions as supporting materials. $ 100 application fee (will include ONE ticket to Regional Cities Ball – additional tickets are $ 125).
Submit nomination materials no later than 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2011.
