STAR TESTING MAY 10-14: Canyon Vista students in grades 2-5 will begin STAR testing this week.
The California Department of Education has two websites with STAR released questions. There are sample questions for each grade level and for each proficiency level. Please visit http://www.cde.ca.gov/ta/tg/sr/css05rtq.asp and http://www.starsamplequestions.org/starRTQ/search.jsp to view the released test questions.
Please be sure to send your child to school on time with a good breakfast and plenty of sleep. They have learned so much this year; let them showcase their knowledge!
SCHOOL SUPPLY KITS – Make life easy on yourself and avoid the lines at the store! School supply kits are available to order until May 28th. You can order directly online at www.ttkits.com with our school code 26622 or bring your form and check to the front office. Supply kits will be delivered directly to your child’s classroom in September!
BOX TOPS CONTEST – Our last box top contest for the year ends May 14th! GREAT prizes for your crocodile and our teachers plus we earn money for our school!
SMOOTHIES – Don’t forget to send money with your croc to school for a smoothie on Thursday. The cost is $4.00 for a 20oz. smoothie available in two delicious flavors! Look for our car hop service at the fire lane in front of school. Weather Permitting!

SUPPORT OUR COMPUTER LAB FUNDRAISER: Our PTA is partnering with the LA Galaxy Soccer Team to raise funds for Canyon Vista’s computer lab. Your crocodile can sell tickets to the June 5th game vs. the Houston Dynamo for $20 each (gate price is $40) and Canyon Vista will receive a portion of the proceeds! (Children 24 months and younger are free). Each student that sells 4 tickets or more participates in the PARADE OF CHAMPIONS! Sell 20 tickets and meet a Galaxy Player! Order tickets online at www.lagalxy.com/cves OR order at school and make checks payable to Canyon Vista PTA. All orders are due May 18th.
