VETERAN’S DAY HOLIDAY!
Remember, there will be no school Thursday, November 11th AND Friday, November 12th in observance of the Veteran’s Day holiday. Enjoy your long weekend with your family!
NEIGHBORHOOD REMINDER:
Please remember that no dogs are allowed on any CUSD school campus. We have had numerous occasions of feces being thrown away in our kindergarten trash cans and being left there over the weekend. You can imagine what awaits our kindergartners on Monday morning! Please be a good neighbor and remind your friends that your school is not to be used as the local dog park! We appreciate your cooperation!

A HELPING HAND FOR THOSE IN NEED:
Get ready for some REAL competition! We are ready to show Canyon Vista is willing to reach out and support those who need a helping hand this holiday season! Once again there is a desperate need for food at the homeless shelters in Orange County and Canyon Vista is eager to help! Food bins have been placed in the front office from November 8 -19 – one for every grade. The grade who fills their bin first wins! This is a great competition and a huge help for The Orange County Food bank! A list of items most needed will be posted. If you have any questions, please contact Larisa at lowen@cffutures.org. Let’s get those bins overflowing with food!
THE BOOK FAIR IS COMING SOON!
The book fair will be here before you know it! This year’s theme is: “Here’s to our Heroes! Reading Saves the Day!” Your child can gear up for the book fair by participating in our “Draw Your Favorite Hero” contest: Your crocodile will receive the drawing paper this week from their teacher, so grab those crayons, markers and colored pencils and encourage your child to draw their favorite hero!
• Winners receive Scholastic Dollars to spend in our upcoming Book Fair: December 6-10
• Make sure the student’s name AND their teachers name is on the drawing!
• Drawings are due by November 15th
• Winners in each grade
