COLLEGE FUNDING; THE MISSING LINK IN COLLEGE PLANNING

It’s not just about…
Getting them INTO college

…it’s about getting them OUT!

~ Seating limited to the first 300, so register EARLY for guaranteed seating

Did You Know…?
• Less than half of all college students graduate from
the schools they enter as freshman
• After 6 years of college, nearly half STILL don’t have
an undergraduate degree
• Barely a third of students are achieving an
undergraduate degree in 4 years.
• 10% of students attend 3 or more colleges before
finally earning their degree

Why Is This Happening?
• Inadequate preparation constructing the College List
• Not understanding the complexity of today’s College
Admissions and Financial Aid
• Student/college mismatch academically and/or
financially
• Not understanding the TRUE cost of college
• “Brand Name Paralysis” – selecting colleges on the
basis on their name and perceived prestige

GetCollegeFunding is a non-profit education organization ~ www.GetCollegeFunding.org

“TASTE OF CAPO” FINANCIAL UPDATE:

The Capo Foundation reports that the first annual “Taste of Capo” event held on October 21st netted over $10,000. in proceeds to our Foundation, which will be used to upgrade student technology here at CVHS. This is an incredible accomplishment for a first-year event! We look forward to hosting this event for many years to come and know that it will grow each year and thereby contribute significant financial resources to our school. Thank you to the Foundation Board for their tireless work and dedication to this event, and to all those who attended.

CLOROX CONTEST UPDATE:

At the conclusion of voting on November 1st, our school finished in second place. As per the current posting on the contest website, Clorox is now verifying all votes for each school and will validate and notify winners soon. Watch future listserv’s and School Loop postings for more information when it becomes available.
