The Capistrano Unified School District (CUSD) Board of Trustees this week appointed Jeff Jones, an administrator at Marco Forster Middle School, as principal of Newhart Middle School. He graduated from San Diego State University with a bachelor’s degree in social science and has a master’s degree in educational administration from National University.

First Community Forum Held at Capo Valley HS

Superintendent Joseph M. Farley held the first of six community forums this week at Capistrano Valley High School. Students and community members from the CVHS family (or feeder pattern) were invited to listen to information about the district and ask questions on a variety of subjects. The next stop on Farley’s “Back to the Classroom” tour will be on Tuesday, Nov. 16 at San Juan Hills High School. The meeting begins at 7 p.m.
San Clemente HS to Pilot Skateboarding Course
Students at San Clemente High School can now grind their way though physical education. The Board approved a pilot physical education elective called Skateboarding for the 2010-2011 school year. The city of San Clemente has offered the use of Ralph’s Skate Court for the class.

ROP CEO ‘Changes Course’

After 12 years, Dr. Rick Bogart is retiring as Chief Executive Officer of the Capistrano-Laguna Beach Regional Occupational Program.
