Thursday, 5/6 – Capo Valley High School to visit 8th Graders for Orientation
• Attention 8th Graders! – Capistrano Valley High School will be coming to Hankey to present their freshman orientation to our 8th graders on Thursday, May 6th, during 3rd period iSET. This meeting will go over the registration process, an overview of CVHS programs, and upcoming 9th grade events – including the student campus walk-thru over the summer. Registration forms will be due to Hankey no later than Monday, May 10th.
Thursday, 5/6 – Drama Club Rehearsal/ MPR/ grades K-6/ 2:30-4:00 p.m.
STAR Testing will be held May11-May 19, with make-up testing May 20-21. Testing will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. for middle school and 8:10 a.m. for elementary school – PLEASE BE PROMPT!
You are a vital part of the testing process and can help by:
• making sure your child has plenty of rest the night before testing;
• providing a healthy breakfast;
• helping your child see the test as an opportunity to show what he or she has learned and encouraging your child to do his or her best;
• scheduling appointments outside of the testing window;
• making sure your child is here and on time.

Destination Imagination Team Fundraiser – Smencils will be sold all next week, May 3rd-7th to benefit Hankey’s Destination Imagination Team going to Tennessee for the Global Competition. The Smencils are gourmet scented pencils made from 100% recycled newspaper. There are 10 scents: Bubble Gum, Cinnamon, Tropical Blast, Grape, Cotton Candy, Black Cherry, Very Berry, Orange, Watermelon, and Rootbeer. They will be sold by the grassy hill near the kindergarten playground after school. Smencils will sell for $1.00 each. Hurry over before we sell out of your favorite scent!
