PTA Committee Chair Positions
Bike Rodeo- Bicycle Rodeo held in the Spring is an opportunity for our 2nd, 3rd, 4th graders to showcase their bicycling skills. The Bicycle Rodeo includes a written safety test and bicycle skills timed obstacle course. Chairperson is responsible for organizing event.
Bulletin Boards- Creates welcome bulletin board for front office & PTA. Updates and maintains PTA bulletin board with important dates and upcoming events.
Bingo Night- Plans night of Bingo for the entire school.
eScrip- Promotes program and encourages more Hankey Families to sign up! eScrip is a program gives money back to schools without costing us anything!
Family Fun Night- Researches, budgets, and coordinates a fall family fun night
Hawkfest- Coordinates Spring Carnival. Fills key positions, manages committees and budget. (A great job for a team)
Membership- Maintains PTA membership campaign, database of all members. Good job for parent working daytime hours.
Middle School Liaison’s)- Just what it sounds like! Serve as the liaison between middle school and the PTA to represent MS interests and to help the PTA communicate with MS teachers and students.
Movie Nights : Organizes, promotes, and runs a fun night at Hankey for families to see a movie together. Chairperson would need to order movie, food, & drinks, and organize volunteers for the night of movie. Volunteers needed the night of movie to assist with the selling of food, setup, and cleanup.
Newsletter- Gather and publish school, PTA and community articles on a periodic basis by writing, editing, copying, and distributing the PTA newsletter.
Red Ribbon Week- Organizes a week of activities and events
*** Starts October 23rd, 2010***
Reflections- Organizes, process and informs parents, students, and teachers about national PTA art contest. Recruits judges from outside of the school community, and arranges event after the work has been turned in for judging.
***ALL ENTERIES ARE DUE OCTOBER 19th, 2010***
Room Parent Coordinator- Advises room parents of upcoming school activities, PTA events. Obtains information about teachers that will be provided to room parents.
Science Quest/Math Night: Organizes the events by working with the appropriate teachers. Invites field experts to share their knowledge.
Webmaster: **NEW** Chairperson(s) will coordinate the start up and up keep of a website for the Hankey PTA.
