Carl’s Jr. on Wednesday announced the launch of the Teriyaki Chicken Sandwich, which aims to build upon the success of the chain’s Teriyaki Burger.
The new sandwich features a charbroiled chicken breast, teriyaki glaze, charbroiled Dole pineapple, Swiss cheese, lettuce, red onion, tomato and mayo on a honey-wheat bun for a suggested menu price of $3.89.
Carl’s Jr. also said in a news release that it will introduce other menu items that “celebrate the tastes of Hawaii” all summer long.
“Carl’s Jr. has become known as the fast-food place where the public can find the same kind of burgers and sandwiches they previously could only get at more expensive, sit-down restaurants,” said Brad Haley, executive vice president of marketing at Carl’s Jr. “The Teriyaki Burger and the new Teriyaki Chicken Sandwich are two delicious examples of that philosophy.”
Carl’s Jr., a wholly owned subsidiary of Carpinteria, Ca.-based CKE Restaurants Inc., has 1,224 locations.
