Casa Romantica Cultural Center and Gardens, a nonprofit southern California cultural center, brings its expanded Casa Wellness programs back in November 2018. The series, which includes workshops held on Wednesdays through summer 2019 and year-round weekly and monthly classes, gives patrons access to a variety of culinary, fitness, botanical, and lifestyle classes.
“Wellness is becoming an important national issue,” says Casa Romantica Executive Director Berenika D. Palys. “Institutions like Casa Romantica are naturally positioned to enhance the overall health of our community with an atmosphere that encourages introspection, inspiration, and positive mind-body balance – all in a positive social setting.”

The Casa Wellness series includes workshops and classes designed to enhance mental, emotional, and physical health. The first Wednesday workshop of the 2018-19 season is Casa Romantica’s wildly popular Succulent Wreath Workshop, offered on both November 7 and November 14. For $45, participants choose from an array of succulents and festive floral accompaniments such as pinecones and pyracantha berries, then plant and pin them into a structured moss wreath that can be hung for the holiday and planted for year-round enjoyment.
Also offered during the fall and holiday seasons in 2018 are Casa Romantica’s monthly vinyasa yoga class (held on the first Wednesday of the month at 9am; $10 for general admission and free for Casa members) and weekly Casa Fit Mondays (held every Monday at 8am; admission is free but is limited to Casa members).
In 2019, Casa Romantica will offer a special Restorative Yoga and Aromatherapy class in the evening on Wednesday, January 9. On February 20, participants can attend a lecture and tasting for organic wines. Stephanie Knight, owner of Lavender Tea Lounge in San Clemente, will lead two workshops in early spring: an Herb Garden Workshop on March 13, and a Tea Blending Workshop on April 10. Tspoons Cooking School will lead a culinary workshop for participants to create fresh Mexican cuisine on May 22, and Knight returns on June 12 to lead a floral arrangement workshop using both traditional blooms and succulents in the style of the Casa Romantica gardens. The series will conclude with a popular Sip and Paint class, held outdoors on July 24 with the Casa Gardens and painting inspiration, and led by local artist Kelly Gallaher.
For those who plan to attend the majority of the series, a subscription package is available in the form of the ‘Casa Fit Pass’ membership. The Casa Fitness Pass includes admission to all of the Casa Wellness programs at a discounted rate, as well as a general Casa Membership for one person, which allows the patron to visit Casa Romantica for free daily, get discounts on nearly all Casa Captivating programs, enjoy free after-hours access at monthly Member Nights, and get complimentary admission to over 300 botanical gardens nationwide with Casa Romantica’s American Horticultural Society association.
Tickets for all Casa Wellness events are available online at CasaRomantica.org/Calendar and by telephone at (949) 498-2139. The Casa Fit Pass is available for purchase online at CasaRomantica.org/Wellness.
