Mother’s Day
Pre-Mother’s Day Brunch Sail (ages 4+) – Enjoy a pre-Mother’s Day Brunch Sail on-board the tall ship Spirit of Dana Point on Saturday, May 7, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Help raise the sails and steer the ship while enjoying the beautiful Southern California coastline. Brunch included. $80 adult (18 and up), $60 child (4-17).
Pre-Mother’s Day Afternoon Sail (ages 4+) – Enjoy an afternoon tall ship sail on-board the tall ship Spirit of Dana Point, on Saturday, May 7, 2-4:30 p.m. Help raise the sails and steer the ship while enjoying the beautiful Southern California coastline. Light refreshments included. $70 adult (18 and up), $50 child (4-17).
Mother’s Day Whale Watching Cruise – Enjoy a Mother’s Day cruise on-board the Ocean Institute’s RV Sea Explorer on Sunday, May 8, 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Cookies, pastries, coffee, and tea provided. $55 adult (18 and up), $25 child.
Father’s Day
Father’s Day Whale Watching Cruise – Enjoy a Father’s Day cruise on-board the Ocean Institute’s RV Sea Explorer on Sunday, June 19, 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Cookies, pastries, coffee and tea provided. $55 adult (18 and up), $30 child.
Father’s Day Adventure at Sea (ages 4+) – Enjoy a Father’s Day Adventure at Sea on-board the tall ship Spirit of Dana Point on Sunday, June 19, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Steer the ship, help raise the sail, watch us fire the cannon, listen to tales of legend and lore and enjoy California’s beautiful coastline. $80 adult (18 and up), $60 child (4-17).

About the Ocean Institute The Ocean Institute is an ocean education center that offers in-depth Marine Science, Maritime History and Outdoor Education programs. The facility includes state-of-the-art teaching labs, the Maddie James Seaside Learning Center, two historic tallships, and an oceanographic research vessel.
Immersion-based field trips range from one-hour science labs to multi-day programs at sea. All programs are designed to maximize immersion, spark curiosity, and inspire a deep commitment to learning.
Ocean-based exhibits are open to the public seven days a week. Visitors can explore the underwater world while participating in fun activities designed to indulge ocean curiosity. Throughout the year, the Ocean Institute also offers organized family programs, summer camps, cruises, tallship sails, and other unique events including our annual Toshiba Tall Ships Festival and the Festival of Whales.
