Elks Raise Funds for Special Kids Hoop Shoot in Conjunction with Orange County Special Olympics
Mission Viejo, CA – Mission Viejo / Saddleback Valley Elks Lodge No. 2444 (“Elks Lodge”) announces the annual Orange Coast District Elks Golf Tournament taking place on October 25, 2010 at Jurupa Hills Golf Course. All proceeds from this event will go to fund the Elks Special Hoop Shoot held in conjunction with the Orange County Special Olympics.
The Elks Special Hoop Shoot will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2010 in Anaheim, CA. Members of Elks Lodges in Mission Viejo, Buena Park, Fullerton, Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, La Habra, Newport Beach, Orange, Santa Ana and Westminster will participate in this event. Funds raised by this golf outing will buy tee shirts, trophies and prizes for the young athletes taking part in the basketball free throw competition. Over 300 developmentally challenged participants are expected to compete at the upcoming Orange County Special Olympics.
This year marks the seventh year the Elks have sponsored the Special Hoop Shoot event. Elks Golf and Hoop Shoot chairman Ed Repic said, “We still have a few openings in the golf tournament and all Elks and guests are welcome to participate. Included in the fee are 18 holes of golf with cart, tee favors, breakfast and lunch at the course, cash prizes and trophies – all for $65!” Repic added, “It’s a great deal for the golfers and a wonderful opportunity to support a charitable program benefiting some of Orange County’s most beloved and special people.”
