Art of Cooking Series features Santa Ana Chef on August 11 from 1 – 2pm
Learn to create delicious dishes with Chef Jason Quinn from Playground and Playground 2.0 at the Festival of Arts Sunday, August 11 from 1 – 2pm. As part of the 2013 Art of Cooking series, he will demonstrate step-by-step some of his favorite recipes and share samples of his finished creations with the audience. Chef Jason commented “I’m looking forward to sharing my unique take on food with Festival of Arts visitors.”
A Southern California native, Chef Jason Quinn grew up in Irvine and realized his passion and talent for cooking in his late teens. After working a variety of restaurant jobs, Quinn was asked to be part of a new venture- food trucks. As chef and co-owner, The Lime Truck won numerous accolades including a victory on Season 2 of the Food Network’s The Great Food Truck Race for their inventive California, ingredient-driven cuisine.
In 2011, Chef Jason and his wife Hillary opened Playground & Playground 2.0 restaurants in the artist village of down town Santa Ana. The menu changes every day based on what is delivered each morning. Going to Playground is a unique opportunity to witness on the fly creativity and taste food that was born from all sorts of inspiration.
“Chef Jason will surprise us with recipes using the freshest ingredients from the market on Sunday,” said Susan Davis, director of special events. “You won’t want to miss it!”
Foodies rejoice every Sunday from 1 – 2pm at the Festival of Arts “Art of Cooking” series. Every Sunday between July 7 and August 25, this special event series takes place in the Festival’s Art Center and is free with Festival admission.
