Director Scott Farthing says his ITW characters, playing in “fairy tales involving golden shoes, red capes, wolves, beanstalks, and beautiful princesses in towers,” are faced with the differences between wishes and wants, and making choices that have real consequences.
The same can be said for these fairy tale characters in real life! Here are just a few of their stories:
Maeve Riley (left), as the Baker’s Wife, earned a degree in Musical Theatre from UCLA and has appeared in many shows across Southern California. Her favorite fairy tale is The Princess and the Frog. “The music is amazing!” she says, but her dream role is to play Mary, in Merrily We Roll Along.
Jeremiah Lussier (center), the Baker, has a degree in vocal performance from Chapman University, has taken the acting and music theatre sequence at Saddleback College, and studied advanced acting at South Coast Repertory. He has appeared in many regional productions, including Godspell and Fantasticks. He also has previous fairy tale experience, as the narrator of the Saddleback College production of Once Upon A Mattress.
Rachel Blugrind (right) as Little Red, is a graduate of San Juan Hills High School and a Theatre major at Saddleback College. She is currently active in the Chamber Singers, and plays community theatre in the south Orange County area.

Brigitte Espenschied is Cinderella in the upcoming Saddleback College production of Into The Woods. Espenschied graduated from Aliso Niguel High School and is a double major in Theatre and Music at Saddleback College where she is also member of the Applied Music Program and sings in the Chamber Singers. She has been in many shows at Saddleback including First Lady Suite, Music Man, and was the assistant director of Noises Off.
