City of Aliso Viejo – Mayor’s Message: Don’t miss State of the City & Founder’s Day Fair September 15, 2016

Date:

Mayor Mike Munzing talks about the upcoming State of the City and Founder’s Day Fair in his latest message that follows:

2016 has been an exciting year so far as our City continues to celebrate its 15th anniversary. As part of our year-long commemoration, I want to invite you to two upcoming special events.

First up is our annual State of the City event on Thursday, September 15 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Soka University’s Athenaeum patio at 1 University Drive. This event will give you the chance to learn about some of our City’s accomplishments over the past year while enjoying appetizers and mingling with civic and business leaders. I love this annual event because it’s also when we recognize our City’s Youth, Senior and Citizen of the Year. These are individuals who truly epitomize community service and volunteerism. From our first honorees feted with these awards in 2007 to the special folks you will meet on September 15, these recipients represent the lifeblood of our community.

Following the State of the City is our annual Founder’s Day Fair on Saturday, October 1 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the rustic Aliso Viejo Ranch. This event celebrates Aliso Viejo’s history and heritage while offering families and individuals a fun free community fair. Nestled at 100 Park Avenue across from Aliso Viejo Middle School, the fair features mechanical rides, carnival games, inflatables, local stage entertainment, old-fashioned family games, interactive historical exhibits, pony rides, a petting zoo and more! There will also be food and information booths along with a beer and wine saloon – all offered by local nonprofit groups. Admission is free with nominal fees for food and certain activities. I love this annual event because it’s a great celebration of our past, present and future.

So please mark your calendar for September 15 and October 1 and join me in celebrating this awesome community.
