City of Laguna Niguel – AWMA ROAD WILL OPEN TO TWO-WAY TRAFFIC FROM ALICIA STARTING JULY 18, 2016

Date:

Awma Road will open to two-way traffic from Alicia Parkway beginning July 18. All visitors to Aliso and Wood Canyons Wilderness Park and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints will now need to enter AND exit from Alicia Parkway in Laguna Niguel.

The County of Orange has placed a gate on Awma Road at Knollwood that will no longer allow for through vehicle access from Alicia Parkway to Knollwood in Aliso Viejo. The gate will only allow pedestrian, bicycle and emergency vehicle access. For more information, visit http://ocparks.com/parks/aliso/

The new traffic flow follows the transfer of the AWMA bridge from the South Orange County Water Authority (SOCWA) to the County, approved by the Orange County Board of Supervisors May 24, with the support of the city councils of Aliso Viejo and Laguna Niguel.
