The public is invited to attend the first annual National Night Out on Tuesday, Aug. 11 at the Aliso Viejo Target Center, 26932 La Paz Road.
Aliso Viejo Police Services is gearing up for National Night Out – a national crime prevention celebration of “taking the streets back from criminals” by increasing neighborhood camaraderie.
The family event, “America’s Night Out Against Crime,” takes place from 5 to 8 p.m. and features free child fingerprint kits; child safety games; the Orange County Sheriff’s Department Search & Rescue Bloodhound; and crime prevention and emergency preparedness booths. Target, the event’s sponsor, will provide refreshments, child face painting, and raffle prizes.
National Night Out is a nationwide community-building campaign designed to heighten awareness about crime prevention, generate participation in local anti-crime programs, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships and send a message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
