Our NEW CHAPTERS Women’s Ministry offers: The Feminine Spiritual Journey
There is a path that is well trodden. It has been traveled by Eve, Mary, Rebecca, Martha, Ruth, Elizabeth, Teresa, Agnes, Rose, Rita and so many other women throughout the course of history. It is the path often referred to today as the Feminine Spiritual Journey, a unique, dynamic, transformative walk with the Lord. As women of the 21st century, we too are invited to walk this path (consciously or unconsciously) in our own special way. However, we don’t walk it alone or outside the history of the countless beautiful women that have journeyed before us.
Their path, although distinct, has so much to teach us! It is with this in mind that Chapters announces a five-week reflection on the Feminine Spiritual Journey. Facilitated by Shawn Wehan, Coordinator of Adult Faith Formation, the reflection will involve both lecture and small group sharing involving Biblical history, Church teachings, spirituality and feminine theology. Scheduled on Wednesday evenings beginning at 7PM, Remaining dates are: Feb. 9, 16, 23 and March 2nd. Located in meeting rooms 1 & 2. (Asking for $10 supplies fee for course.)
Corpus Christi Adult Faith Formation presents “Understanding the Old Testament,” a four week course exploring the history, genre, content, symbolism, theology and modern impact of the books of the Old Testament. This engaging and provocative Bible study course will be taught by Shawn Wehan (Coordinator of Adult Faith Formation) and will involve both lecture and small group sharing. Classes will take place on Monday evenings at 7PM and repeated Tuesday mornings at 10AM. The following are the course dates: February 7 & 8, 14 & 15, 28 & March 1, 7 & 8.

Last call for anyone who wants to host a food booth at our food fair….
Do you watch Iron Chef and wonder what it would be like to compete? Have you a special recipe you would like to share with our parishioners? Have you9 always dreamed of hosting a street-fair food booth? Well, following each of the Masses on the weekend of March 5-6 we will again be featuring our own version of a Mardi Gras’esque event with our Parish Food Fair. Similar to what we have done in the past, groups and individuals have an opportunity to showcase an ethnic or personal food for purchase and enjoyment after ALL the Masses (Saturday and Sunday). This is not competitive but rather a festive and fun way to enjoy each other’s favorite foods and tastily generate revenue for our Building Fund.. The parish will provide plates, napkins eating utensils, awnings, and tables. Each participant/group is responsible for donating a minimum of 50% of all proceeds from their food sales to the Building Fund. If you want further information or would like to commit to a booth, please make contact with our Food Fair Coordinator, Tim Moran, at 215-2676.
Dear Friends of Corpus Christi Catholic-Christian Community:
Best wishes for a Happy New Year!
As we look to this new year full of hope and prosperity, I wanted to share with you about our 12th Annual Good Friday Prayer Breakfast on April 22, 2011, once again hosted at the St. Regis Resort and Spa Grand Ballroom in Dana Point.
Our theme this year will be “‘Unless the grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies…’, a reference to our encounters with the cross by which we reap our deepest, if not at times conflicted, encounters with the grace of Jesus through the shedding of our external impediments.
The morning will feature The Most Reverend Gordon D. Bennett, S.J., MA, Bishop Emeritus of the Diocese of Mandeville, Jamaica. A successful and happy school administrator, ‘Father’ Bennett’s elevation to Bishop thrust him into the cauldron of ecclesiastical politics and racial sensitivities within the Catholic Church. Following his assignment to the impoverished Diocese of Mandeville, Jamaica, he suffered a stroke, and within his recovery came to the painful awareness and appreciation of the cross of Jesus being present within the very things we love, in his case, the inner workings of the Church itself.
Bishop’s Bennett’s words and reflections on Good Friday morning will speak to many who likewise experience the painful cross of Jesus within their own entwined lives. Addressing the theme: ‘Unless the grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies…’, Bishop Bennett will guide us to perceive the grace of God within the painful circumstances that are part and parcel of the very things that frequently define our lives.
I invite you to consider participating -yet again- in Corpus Christi’s special Good Friday tradition by becoming one of our event-sponsors. We offer three levels of sponsorships: Platinum, Gold and Silver. In return for your support you will receive one (1) table for ten (10), five certificates for valet parking at the St. Regis as well as recognition in all the promotional materials, the 2000 invitations to be sent to our parishioners and the printed programs for Good Friday morning.
To insure the reservation of your desired seating (with each level afforded closer proximity to the speaker platform and access to Bishop Bennett), please obtain a Sponsorship Form and return it to our parish offices by February 15, 2011.
If I can provide any further information please do not hesitate to contact me, Jackie Kleinhammes, at 949-837-4441.

If you passed through our Cry Room in the last week you may have noticed that the carpets are sparkling clean…almost like new…all thanks to Jeannie Conklin who donated the services of a professional carpet cleaner! Thanks Jeannie…you are the best!
